Abutilon is a large genus of flowering plants in the mallow family. It is found throughout the tropics and subtropics of the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Common names include Indian mallow and velvetleaf. When I first saw it it looked like a drooping hibiscus which makes sense since hibiscus is also from the same family as is rose mallow and rose of Sharon. My Fx2 for this week.

A very different and pretty flower and color Kathy - you captured these flowers beautifully - I like the lighting as it brought out the veins in the petals - the bright orange center will surely direct insects/hummingbirds to take a sip of nectar - Great Capture!!!

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Although I'm somewhat late (it's already Saturday morning here), it's a wonderful Foofy Friday image.
Gives me warm feeling on this chilly morning here Kathy. Thanks!

In Australia they are known as Chinese lanterns. They are easy to strike from cuttings and come in a wide variety of colours. Love this one!
