From this morning - he flew onto the gaillardia I was looking at and I had my compact Nikon in hand. Just cropped this a bit. Another possible for the contest as the colors are all cool.

Yes, I agree, it would make a great entry in the contest with this green filling the frame and the touch of blue of this dameselfly...a cool capture...best of luck should this be your choice.

I'm not a specialist in Damselflies, so I wonder how you could know that it's male male one, lol. Could be that, in contrary of the human world, that the male ones are more handsome/colorful than the female ones.
