While photographing this Golden Skipper Echinacea today a very tiny butterfly flew unto the head. After I got home and did some research I identified it as a Least Skipper only about 3/4 to 1 inch long. The skippers are a large family of butterflies and they do bear a resemblance to moths but are classified as butterflies. This particular variety of Echinacea is a favorite of skippers I also found out.

I have a number of skippers that frequent my front yard flowers. This is a gorgeous golden shot! The lighting is wonderful.

Lovely flower and visitor Kathy. I too thought it was a moth at first. Very nice flower image.

Kathy, this 'skipper' has, like almost all other skippers, a good taste, lol.

Wonderful, and perfectly timed shot!

I really like the color of that one, and skipper is a bonus. They are so small, and a challenge to capture, kudos! tigs=^..^=
