I found this in a a corner in the tropical greenhouse at the botanic garden. I could not find any identification for it but thought it was so pretty. I tried some of my favorite sources online but still couldn't identify it. So if anyone knows what it is .. .. .. P.S. Thanks to Constance this is now identified as Pink Cestrum, native to Mexico and a member of the nightshade family

I'm glad you found those hidden beauties Kathy. They just speak Valentine's Day to me even if they are not roses.

Kathy, although I'm not quite sure, perhaps it could be one of the species of a Cuphea because of some similarities.
Anyhow a splendid image, my friend.

This flower is so beautiful! I love the coral color and the star-shaped ends. This image brings out its true loveliness.

I was able to locate the name. It's Cestrum elegans var. smithii - Pink Cestrum. It's of the Nightshade family and from Mexico.

I've said in an earlier PM to Kathy (in similar words) that perhaps Connie could offer the 'solution', and she did. For that reason my compliments go to Connie!

A gorgeous burst of colour Kathy, beautifully focused and a very graceful flower.

Did you know it had an offensive daytime smell but is fragrant at night?

Despite its beauty is is classed as a weed in New Zealand. It is extremely toxic to both humans and animals.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
