This is a hollyhock and about the darkest red I've seen in that flower. It gave me and the camera fits as it was 11:00am, much later than I like and as you know red is not always a cameras friend. I wanted to capture the beautiful veining in the petals as well as that intense color.

You handled the lighting so well! Excellent color capture and I can clearly see the veining. tigs=^..^=

Kathy, perfect handling for this, for photography difficult, intense red color, even without losing any of its details, resulting in a wonderful hollyhock image.
You've done a perfect job again, my friend!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Real red and really beautiful with the light and shadow patches on it.

A few more 'really's are needed for this red. Wow!
