I moved to Lake Ct. IL 4 years ago - it is the county that shares a border with Wisconsin. It is more wild than Cook Ct. which is highly developed and contains the city of Chicago proper plus many suburbs. I had taken a picture of some wild crabtrees in Lake Ct. before I moved up here but I did not realize how many there were all over this county. I see them everywhere I go in the spring. These are on land that has never had any development so how they got there has to be seeds blown in the very strong winds of spring. These are from a wooded area near where I live.

Yep, Cook County is not known for sprawling greenery that goes on forever. I can say, however, that flying into O'Hare is much more green and has more lakes than flying into LAX. I have a sister in law who lives in Lake County after living in Des Plaines for 15 years. Will you be making your cranberry sauce this Thanksgiving with wild cranberries?

This time no real snow in your area, but floral 'snow' in the spring, Kathy.
A wonderful and lovely sight, captured very well thanks to a well chosen vantage point too!

If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins! Please CLICK HERE to see my journal! Feel free to save my images or to add them to your favorites.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
