Astilbe is a great plant for shade and particularly wet soils. There is a whole range of colors and it has a fern-like look to it.

Kathy, as far as as I know there are about 25 astilbe species. The ones that I commonly see are more reddish than the one you've depicted. I can't remember whether I've seen this pink or salmon colored species before.
Its subtle color isn't only very special but its fluffy shape too.
