I was immediately struck by two things in this shot The first one is that this bicycle doesn't belong in this shot because show shoes or boots would probably be a preferable mode of transportation. I am a big fan of shots that contradict logic. You have a winner in that department. Secondly I noticed the snow flakes on the spider web on the right side. My guess is that the spider is long gone and that there are few insects out on such a day. The black and white enhances the curiosity of the shot. Splendid work.
Dorothy Michaels: No, just Dorothy. Alan's always Alan, Tom's always Tom and John's always John. I have a name too. It's Dorothy, capital D-O-R-O-T-H-Y.
Perfect decision to convert your initial image into B&W, Els. Your treatment is perfectly done, so becoming a very fine entry for the Wednesday B&W challenge (BWC).

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
