This tiny US Post Office goes back many years, when the Pioneers were coming thru the Columbia River Gorge, right next to the Cascade Mountain Range in Oregon. Bridal Veil is actually a most beautiful waterfall. The falls rise 120' above the main road, which is near the Columbia River. A beautiful trail goes near the top. There are wildflowers and herbs growing everywhere. The creek hustles down from the top of nearby Larch Mountain, tumbles over the cliff and eventually flows into the mighty Columbia River. There is a lower trail also, surrounded by logged beams and wire so everyone on the trail can be safe. This little post office is pretty special. Thought you all might enjoy seeing it. There is so much history in the Columbia River Gorge.Thanx for looking.

Another wonderful capture Verena and love that adorable little post office. Did you go into it? That sure is one strong iron barred door in the back side one.

They might have ponies delivering the mail yet, but they have upgraded to satellite TV. Hurray for progress. LOL. Nice shot of the historic post office, Verena.

Wonderful shot Lady V. Such photos save these structures for all to see and enjoy. You just never know when something or someone will come along and harm them. We lost a fine old church building here a couple years ago. Not many photos of it except those taken at weddings with the church in the background.

No trees were killed in the sending of this message. However, a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Good capture of the little P.O. X. I like the train in the background as well. Makes me want to hop a freight and head for higher ground. Nice post.

That is pretty cool that something that historic and you would think...not that important would still be there. The stories that place could tell. Wonderful job and thanks for the history.
