I've been keeping my eye on this flower to see when it would open. Yes, this is the original flower that I found, called Grand Opening. Today it was raining most of the day, I took off to find this flower again. It was open much more than it had been. I just wanted to get a shot of the inside stamens. So here it is, but I don't know what kind of flower it is tho. It's as large as a breakfast plate. So beautiful are the soft pink colours. I hope you like it and please comment. I know now that this is a Peony. Enjoy!

Looks rather like a peony and this is the time they are starting to bloom. Very nice close view of the pretty ruffled petals.

It certainly is a beautiful flower - though I can't put a name to it. The square black frame is just right, too.

Verena - I'd go with a peony flower, but for your description of its size. Framed and presented nicely. Thad

I guess humongous flower such as this, is called peony. Anyways another perfectly captured beauty of a flower. Good job.
