I love Pampas grass and I thought these were nice fall colors for your desktop.

I do love it as well and funny, just took a photo of some and it wasn't near as beautiful as this with it's golden tones and wonderful clarity. Excellent post and so glad you shared it.

I love Pampas grass too and this is such a colorful and lovely shot of them. This does make a great wallpaper.

Oh I might as well tell you I envy you this post. We actually have some pampas grass up here in the hinterlands..must be the only clump for miles around, but every time I go to try and capture it its hair is being ruffled by the slightest of winds and I can never get the clarity you've captured here. The colors are in sharp focus which tends to highlight the differences and even though one might think that they would be competing against each other instead they compliment with the lovely sapphire blue and the glowing gold and deep greens but the crowning jewel ever remains the tufts of soft fluffy white..love it :)PJ

Well, since the first few posts cover the photography, here's the comes botany! This actually isn't Pampas grass...it looks like something from the Miscanthus genus. It is an attractive grass, and works well in certain landscaping situations though it's not well suited for more natural areas since it's imported can spread and take over areas rather quickly...

What terrific brilliant rich colors and textures! I took some shots of grass the other day, but they didn't look anywhere as gorgeous as this! Wonderful work Hilda! A keeper for sure.

I've tried (unsuccessfully) a few times to get a shot like this. i like the way you've almost filled the frame, but not quite, allowing a bit of blue sky to peek over the top. well done

lately, i've fallen horribly behind in my thanks and comments. I'll catch up, but until I do, please know all your kind words are greatly appreciated.
