Caedes

Development server is back up

Submitted by caedes 04/17/04 7:37 AM GMT

I've just got dev.caedes.net back online and it's waiting with some new software for you to test. The biggest change is a new table sorting method (as featured under the Caedes Control Panel and Image Rating pages) and the new format for page links. I invite all interested members to have a look and report any bugs or thoughts to me via the dev.caedes.net discussion board. Thanks a lot.

Up to 36 images a page, better! Any chance of having like 54 per page?

So will "Caedes control" replace the drop down lists currently on the "Image Rankings" page? BTW I presume you know the caedes control link isn't working at the moment?

I'm specifically wonder what everyone thinks of the new format for the page links. I put them in a drop-down list so that they don't take up as much space. I've yet to put the next and previous buttons on there though.

ok, I've updated the software. The Caedes Control should work for everyone. You'll also see that there are now previous and next buttons on the page links. Xentrik said that he got an error when trying to register a new username. Does anyone else have a problem doing this? I couldn't reproduce the error myself.

I certainly like the next/prev buttons, I've been hoping for them for awhile. The drop down box also cleans up the page quite a bit, and doesn't look nearly as overwhelming as seeing, say, >300 galleries under 'photo' alone.

I'm really thinking that it's about time to move the new software over the the main site. Are there any big problems that anyone sees with the software currently on the dev site?

In the "World Gallery", I just noticed that the location will remain on the map if the image has been deleted. Don't know if you can fix this, I would have posted on the dev site but of course I can't right now, and if I didn't post it somewhere I would forget...
