This one really might not make great wallpaper, I just thought it was facinating. This six foot across tree trunk has wrapped around the headstone with age. It certainly shows the finality of the place. Though I couldn't see a date, most of the stones in this section are from the 1840s through the 60s Edit; Some have been confused into thinking that the stone is behind the tree. I didn't get enough distinction between the barks edge and the background. The stone is now part of the tree. When you walk up to it it's like a hand reaching above the waves struggling to be seen.

Out of the corner of my eye I can see a new direction. Yes, I can see a new path.
I'd like to thank everyone who takes the time to look. The camera is with me constantly, for a week vacation in Virginia I developed 27 rolls of film. Sometimes it seems like I've missed a lot because I was busy 'composing'. To throw it out for a group like this, whose work I poke through in awe, seems both comfortable and risky.

It does look like either an UFO or time travel. That's what caught my eye. I think it would have been better without the electric service showing, but I could not get the angle because of the terrain. Maybe I'll try cloning out the wire when I get time to play with it. Thanks for commenting.

Thanks for noticing "Ils Ne Passerons Pas." Taking that shot was lots of fun. To get it I had to climb the mountain - they have a footpath, but no road to the summit. - and it took about a half hour of strenuous climbing to do so. The castles are on three peaks at the top of a mountain. When I shot the photo I was standing in a fourth castle (Tour Regine) on a fourth peak of the mountain.

Thanks for your nice comment on (Life In The Fast Lane). I think that it was probably more hazardous hanging out on that dark overpass than standing in the middle of the road :). I was honked at by several people in the short time I was up there, and attacked by invisible fire ants, but in the end, it was all worth it ;)

Hey thank you for commenting on (Free The Horses). I think I answered your question while you were asking it, but you were right. There was quite a bit of freehand work necessary, not my strong suit but at least it was pretty heavily constrained from all sides so I didn't have to be totally creative :). I'm glad you liked the outcome!

Thank you for the comment on (Sitting In My Tin Can). The darkness is what caught my eye as well. I felt like we were about to leave the atmosphere. 37,000 seemed higher than I've been before since they usually cruise about 30. I love the flight info on the monitor. Over 500 mph and -10F outside. You'd never guess from sitting inside an airliner :)
