Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed my Poppy.. They are so bright and pertty dancing in the wind.. I love the orange color, too.. I have learned to never go anywhere with out my camera.. I got a case to wear around my waist, and it even goes to the grocery with me.. I appreciate your comment..
Paul, thank you for your kind remarks on my postings "series 7" and "New Hampshire Calm base". The latter is one of my favourite pictures and has been pretty popular on the site. Your compliments are appreciated.
Good morning Paul, this Columbine bloom was just about the last one on the plant at this time though i had better get to it. I agree, the gemstone, does pull your eyes away from the flower, just though i would try something different . Thanks for your time and nice comments, have a wonderful day. Dwight.

Paul, thanks very much for your comment on Storm at Gull Rock, I'm very pleased you liked this. Took a quick peek at your gallery and was impressed. Will try to stop back this weekend...Mike

Hi Paul, thank you for commenting on "Emergence"! I also offer to you a big WELCOME to Caedes, and hope you enjoy all the wonderful people on this site as much as I do! Sincerely, Marilyn
Thanks for liking Rose. the blur is straigt from the macro. the macro bellows produce paper thin dof.... slight photoshop adjustments to contrast/saturation. :D
Hello Paul! My Dandelion Sunset photo was an unplanned event. I went to photograph the sunset and decided to see what I'd get with a low telephoto macro shot. I'm glad that you like the results and I appreciate your support.
Russ
Thanks for taking the time to comment on 'From The Boughs', leaving such a nice comment! I had debated between the original shot, or softening it...decided on the softening, since there wasn't too much of a difference. Next time will take your advice and leave it be! Thanks again!
Hey there, thanks for your comment on "Mystical Fan"... as for inspiration to shoot a fan, I don't really know. I was playing around with the shutter speed in my room, and I just kind of looked around for something to shoot, and the fan was moving so I figured I could experiment a little. Glad you liked it :)
Hello Paul ! Nice to meet an artist from Holland ! I´m so glad you liked my macros of roses !
There are so many roses on this site and I wanted to get a little artistic touch to these flowers with my shots.Extreme macros like these are hard to be satisfied with. I´m satisfied with these two however, and I´m very thankful for your kind comments ! -- Arne in Stockholm --
I was in Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada) last week and was struck by a couple fountains at the hotel across the street. I went up, grabbed the trusty Nikon and squeezed off a few shots. It's curious, sometimes, what the camera provides. Glad you liked it.
thanks for the comment on "Falls Hollow Waterfall" My screen name is actually my real name, which is Albanian. I get quite a few questions about it since people are not inclined to believe it is my real name and it is not, in actuality, pronounced like it is spelled (it's pronounced like Maria but with an Fl in place of the M). If you have any other questions, feel free to ask--I'm always glad to talk about myself :-P
Thanks for your comment on Dogwood.. It is a odd angle but it seemed to work .. Sometimes when there are so many people around it is hard to get photos of interesting thngs.. It was a very large party..
Hello Paul, I wish to thank you for your comments about “Coming Home” and I Lost My Mum”. It’s always a pleasure to read what people think about my photos.
Hello Paul, many thanks for your comments on my reflective river shot. It was a beautiful day and a jump in the river felt mighty good. However, this section of the Willimantic River is quite shallow, so it's more like a splash and dunk!
Greetings Paul, Thank you for your comments about “The Brewery” I had fun getting that shot actually it’s one of those shots I had been wanting to do for a while but always found to many people in the way.
Thank you, Paul, for your comment on "fern". I tend to agree with you - the image is not focused perfectly. I have few other shots of this plant, built the way you would like it. This one seemed more interesting to me composition-wise. I'll see if I can replace this one, when I have time, just to show you how it would look.
Hi Paul - thank you for your nice comment on "Halifax Harbour" - I spend a lot of time walking the boardwalk when it's nice out - it's beautiful down there!
Hi Paul, many thanks for your kind words on "An Apple Blossom Birth"! I just kind of liked the image and am not quite sure why, does that sometimes happen to you? I appreciate it a lot! Sincerely, Marilyn
Much appreciation and many "Thank You's" on your gracious comment on 'On The Winding Road', I'm so glad you liked it! It truly is a beautiful place...and the air is actually clean! :)
Hi Paul, glad you liked "Cloud Walking". I couldn't believe the colors of these waters! Yellowstone Park is truly an amazing experience. We only spent a couple of days traveling through --- but is was well worth it! Regards. Miriam
Thanks for your comment on It's Black!!.. Understand well about the wind.. It has spoiled many a good shot.. I did plant white hollyhocks.. Have no idea why it is black..
Hello Paul, Thanks for your comments about “Penny For Your Thoughts” The White Cheeked Honeyeater is a lively bird that rarely sits still for more than a few moments. I was lucky to get one that would pose like that, I’m pleased you like the result.
Hey Paul .. glad you liked the shot of the pygmy goat. Interesting little creature whose simple appearance invokes recollection of people with similar characteristics.

Thanks for your comments on Monhegan: Peace. In response to your question...
The sky was just hazy way off in the distance, I think. I have other shots from that day and it was a really decent, sunny day. It could also just be my camera. I have a few shots where the skyline/horizon turns basically white, despite it being clear.
Hello Paul,
I totally agree, especially in that ocassion, there were`nt a lot of people around and that is not so common here.
"Filfla Island" photo.

Hey Paul! Thanks for commenting on Golden Day! I would've tried for a shot w/out all the grasses, but I was pulled off along the road and the field was fenced off and was close to the farm it belonged to... Didn't want to risk trespassing. I'm gonna try to find some more this weekend so stay tuned! BTW - I love your avie! Wolves are just plain awesome animals!
Thanks Paul for voting on my latest butterfly ! Many are a bit lazy in the summertime..including myself..but I vote on many more than I comment. This is a shot from a distance of approx. 10 cm (4 inches). Possible with a macro lense but I can´t understand that it didn´t fly away..was probarbly another lazy one...lol. -- Arne --

Paul,
Thanks for commenting on "Pretty Flower." I am very new to photography, and I apprecaite the more experienced photographers giving me tips here and there. Hopefully next month I will be getting a new camera. Are there any that you would reccomend?

Hi Paul - So you hop onto a plane to New Zealand - go to Roturua and Bubbling Pool is waiting your direct expereince - although this is such a great forum to share.
Thanks for commenting on my supper. Its only good in the mornin.. cold, if after a few beers the night b4. you asked me if I used a flash on this. no I didnt. but I did take the picture outside. *smile*
thanks fpr commenting on 'rokpool ii' - im glad you enjoyed it, i love when something completely ordinary turns into something beatiful, just by looking a little closer - thats the fun of the macro shots :)
Pentagrams are not only wicca symbols, pentagrams were used symbolically in ancient Greece and Babylonia. The Pentagram has magickal associations, and many people who practice pagan faiths wear them. Christians once commonly used the pentagram to represent the five wounds of Jesus, but nowadays some Christians associate the symbol with Satanism. However, most who use it are not Satanists.

HI Paul! Sorry to be so late, but I wanted to say thanks for your comments on "A Bird in the Sand is Worth 2 in the...". Actually, this bird was not too hard to capture - I kept shooting and then moving closer, shooting and moving closer, and he kept watching me but didn't decide to fly until after I was able to get this closeup. I guess he enjoyed the "photo shoot"! Thanks again and have a great day!!
Thank you so much for your comment on my yellow flowers, of which I still dont know the name...the sunlight was on them just right it seems..thanx again

I'm so glad you enjoyed the "Great Spangled Fritillary!" And on a side note, I saw you listed shamanism as one of your interests. Personally I find the subject facinating, If you happen to know of a couple books on it could you possibly list them? Thanks again,
Chris.

Thank you Paul for your comments on "Fire Light", pleased you liked it. That time of the day is always a treat, as Mt, Rainier is a very photogenic Mt. No two sunrises or sunsets are the same. There is always a surprise, just waiting to happen.

Good Morning Paul! Many thanks for the very kind words on 'Allure l', I'm very glad you liked it! I was keeping my fingers crossed that what I saw would be what would come out in the shot!...lol!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR COMMENT FOR: NIÑA INDIGENA... IT IS ONE OF MANY PHOTOGRAPHY AT WHICH I AM EMPLOYED, I LIVING IN COSTA RICA AND WORKING VOLUNTARILY HELPING IN INDIGENOUS RESERVATIONS... IT IS VERY SATISFACTORY TO SHOW TO MANY PEOPLE IT PARTS FROM THE LIVES OF THESE PEOPLE... THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART
Hi PAul - thanks for appreciaion about "Allium Cepa Flower" - I used Photoshop - created a layer of the flower by a combination of magic wand and lasso - painstaking work really. . but worth the efffect - used paint bucket in all the gaps and then I used a watercolour script that I created in paintshop pro to soften the edges a little - and then finally brought the purple up in the flower. .
can you see the bee?
Thanks for the feedback... I wrote you back there, but thought you might not go back and see my comments ;-) Thanks for the feedback- I know I need to crop it more, I'm got not sure how to do it without losing the the image, it's a very cool picture- I really wish I would have pushed my camera in a little futher, past the front formations that show in the bottom corners!
Hi Paul, many thanks for your comments on "Peach Charm"! Please forgive my tardiness with my correspondence. I appreciate your attention to my work and hope you stop by again! Sincerely, Marilyn
Thnaks Paul, for the nice comment on Petunia.. Much appreciated.. Sometimes I get lucky.. I have these petunias growing in hanging baskets on the deck.. Just had to give it a try..
Hi Paul...thank you so much for your lovely comments and keen observations on Water Colors # 6...I enjoyed reading them and thank you for your time.:Pat.
Hello again, Paul...thank you once again for taking at look at Water Colors # 7...glad you liked the colors and I appreciate your visits to my series...I have about 3 more in my series then it is done.:Pat.
Hi Paul, thx for your comment, I like your critics you give and yes you are right, but the sun was way to bright that day. This makes it hard to make a shadow on the subject. Of course it is possible to manipulate pic´s in Adobe or so, but I prefer to not do so. You are free to fresh up my pic if you wish.Thx for stopping by and leaving a comment / Håkan.
Hey, thanks for your comment on temptation, I thought there might be some trouble with the darkness (i got TFT too, just my brightness is pretty high), I just didnt want to lighten it in case it took away from the dark spooky kind of feel I wanted to get.

It is intended to be the voice of whatever may be behind that door.. not exactly the best writing but i was making it up as i went along lol, thx again
Thank you Paul for stopping by once again on my water colors...this time # 8...always enjoy your observations and pleased you like it...you will have noticed my error in the size and why it is smaller this time.:Pat.
I hold it true that thoughts are things; They're endowed with bodies, breath and wings:
And that we send them forth to fill the world with good results, or ill.
That which we call our secret thought speeds forth to earth's remotest spot, leaving it's blessings or it's woes like tracks behind it as it goes.
We build our future, thought by thought for good or for ill, yet know it not.
Yet so the universe was wrought .
Thought is another name for fate.
Choose then thy destiny and wait, for Love brings Love and Hate brings Hate. - Henry Van Dyke.
Paul, thanks for your dropping by at "Dollar Glen". thanks for the suggestion, although i have to disagree. 1. there was so little water in the stream that frezing it would mean that it would just look like a trickle. 2. it was so dark under there that i would need to use at least iso1600
to get a fast enough shutter speed and keep the Dof deep enough too. 3. freezing it would stop all the coulors and dreaminess in the water. just my opinion. :D
De laatste serie in Avifauna Alphen a/d Rijn.
Hi Paul...thanks for stopping by again to comment this time on Water Colors # 9...yes, there is some blurring in the sand and not from the wind...there were a few people there that I 'rubbed out', lol...I am no good when it comes to editing.:Pat.
Nogmaals dank.
Hi Paul, yes you are poetic indeed, that is a very nice gift and I thank you! You made the flowers sing! (smiling)! Many thanks for commenting on "Lovely on the Deck"! I appreciate it very much! Sincerely, Marilyn
Thank you Paul for your reflections and kind comments on "The Old Millar Family Home". I'm pleased you like it.

Hi Paul...thanks for the nice feedback on Water Colors Supplement...glad you liked it...# 10 didn't turn out right...just.trying to make up for that...and thanks for all your visits on the series.:Pat.
Hi Paul...thanks for your visit and interested comments on Nesting...yes, there are 2 eggs visible if you look carefully...as for distance I was probably 10 - 12 feet away using a 300 mm lens...thanks again...glad you liked the image.:Pat.
Hi Paul.. thanks for your nice comments on Wattle They Think Of This... im glad you liked it.. if the tree is in full bloom and the afternoon light hits it.. the golden light is lovely... I'll have to try and get a shot of that one =)

Thanks for your comments on Monhegan: Colors. I actually didn't realize those people were in this shot. I knew they were there when I took the picture, but I thought I had kept them out of the shot. I never noticed them I guess since my icons cover them up fairly well.
Is vrij complex programma.
Hi Paul, many thanks to you for liking "In the Spotlight"! I am so happy that you love the many colors displayed by many, I do too. I am totally fascinated by color! Sincerely, Marilyn
Hi Paul, thank you so much for liking and commenting on "Escorted in Purple"! I am glad you liked. I must admit that I didn't think this would go over very well, but I was surprised and pleased when it was responded to! Sincerely, Marilyn
Thanks, Paul.. I was beginniing to think no one liked my Little Green Apples.. I will save you some.. The tree is full, and most are good.. Best of it can't be seen from the road easily, and I have permission to pick as many as I want when they are ripe..

Hello Paul. Thanks for your comments about “Putt Putt”. You have got me curious, wondering what poetry sounds like in Dutch. Not that I would understand any of it though because your English is much better than my Dutch:-)
Thanks so much, Paul, for your insight and kind comment on 'Lavender Gems', I really appreciate your input and you taking the time to say so! Thanks again!
Thanks Paul for your nice comment on Against The Sky.. I am very pleased you liked it.. When I took it I wasn't sure it would turn out the way I wanted.. I got lucky..
Hello again, Paul...thanks for your time and interest in 140 Winks?...very glad you enjoyed it...yes, as a matter of fact, I did use the 300 again and was not as far from these birds as you would think I need to be...viewing them from behind a sand dune helped in being able to get the shot without disturbing them...I am wondering what type of bird it was that took off on you when you got within 60 feet...was it the same bird as these?...I am not really familiar with these birds but being shoreline birds I suppose they are somewhat used to having people around on the beaches as opposed to some birds who would be very wary of any people approaching them...by the way, they did end up taking off as we got closer and I also have a shot of that which I may post sometime soon...tks again for your visit and comments...much appreciated.:Pat.

Many thanks for your appreciative comments on "Swamp, Bramston Beach". Um, the blue thingy. Um, yeah. Um, dunno. Didn't see it till after getting the picture out of my camera. For the life of me I cannot work out if it is a bird, or simply a piece of rubbish.
Enjoy your day

Many thanks for your very kind comment on 'One', I really appreciate your faithful encouragement! I was somewhat unsure if this shot would turn out the way I had hoped because of the limited light in the woods...actually turned out better than what I was expecting...lol! Thanks again!
Hi there Paul...thanks for stopping by with a nice comment for Rock and Roll...very glad you liked it...I'd love to take you for a ride on it, if it were mine, but unfortunately, it isn't *sigh*...tks once again for your time.:Pat.

Hey Paul! Thanks for your comments on 'Flood waters can be that high"' and 'Rocky Perch'.
Especially interesting was your comment on the "temperature" for 'Flood...' - I'll keep that in mind next time, though it was maybe 5 degrees celcius when that was taken :)
It seems to me that what wears us down the most in life aren't the chances we take, but the chances we dont take, the dreams we put aside, the adventures we push away, the questions that are never answered
Hi, thanks for your great comments for " Broody Day " I'm sorry to say I'm not very good at tweaking and messing about with the photos I have only got psp on my comp, maybe I need something better. Your comments and advice are very much appreciated. :)
Paul,
Thank you for visiting my, Monument Valley Revisited image. Your words are very kind and I am humbled by them. I have stood at this spot each year for the past 14 years. Each time I am filled with the grandeur of this place. This is a feeling that I hope I never tire of. Each time that I look at what is spread before me I wonder how many have stood here through all of the years and were they struck by this beauty as we are today?

Thanks for your comments on "Essex Skipper - Zwartsprietdikkopje (Thymelicus Lineola)". As always; very much appreciated.
It is such a fast little butterfly, never sit still - always moves!

Hi Paul from the beautiful Netherlands:-) Thank you for the good comment on "Life in Stride". Even with double the weight the surface tension keeps them afloat:-)
Thanks for commenting on It Fell Down.. I wish I could have gotten more pictures.. I was lucky to get that one.. The people there, were not very happy about my taking pictures from the road, and there were about 10 BIG dogs I didn't want to argue with.. I am going to see If I can find the place again when no one is home.. It was very interesting..
Eric
Thank you Paul for the very nice comments on my Crawfordville Critters 9 image. I appreciate your support of my work. I'm glad that you like it. I love the results that I've gotten with this new camera this year.

Hallo Paul, Thanks for the positive feedback and information on the green bug. I appreciate it because I don't know anything about insects myself.
Gr, Fred
Thanks for your comment on River View.. This is our third year of drought.. That river is usually three times that wide.. It is at least 12 feet below it's usual levels.. Thats about 3 meters.. I am working on recording how it changes as the summer goes by.. Even with the winter snows, there isn't enough moisture.. The swamplands are drying up.. There are almost no butterflies and dragonflies.. Even the bees and wasps are fewer this year..
yes Paul it would have been nice to capture the eagle on film but he wasnt having any of it. we had to settle with just watching him soaring over the cliff edges instead. He was one of a pair that were the only surviving Golden Eagles living in the wild in England but sadly his mate went missing this easter.
Hoi, Paul. Thanks for your comments at "the old barn". Actually yes, I am very curious as to the contents and story of the barn and this one is not in such bad repair that it couldn't be fixed. There are some barns in the upper NY/Vermont area that I wouldn't want to walk to close to LOL.
Hi Paul, my oh my, what a nice concept and so well written! My refference is to your lovely comments on "The Children's Garden"! I really appreciate it. I found this image to be very soft and appealing, however, I didn't feel too good about the fact that it truely wasn't a clean image! I enjoyed your thoughts on the photo and thank you! Sincerely, Marilyn
Hi Paul, many thanks to you for liking "For your Garden"! You must like these gorgeous shades of peach, too! They are my very favorite, running a close second to pink! Thanks again, Sincerely, Marilyn

Thanks, I really apperciate your compliments on Sunflower.. Seems my squirrrels ate all my Russian Giants and planted these instead.. I think they did me a favor..
Hello Paul! Thanks for the nice comments on my Patio Pond Mystery Frog image. This very shy subject appears to be a Southern Lepoard Frog, I think we have 2 or 3 that have made a home in this little bitty backyard pond. It's amazing to me since we are about a mile to the closest creek. Thanks for the nice comments.
Russ
Hi Paul...how are you?....thanks so much for your appreciation and high marks on At The Bar...very pleased you liked it that well...and I am happy to know you also enjoyed Swimming at Sunset...it's one I am rather fond of too...thanks again for your visit and positive feedback.:Pat.
Alvast bedankt.
Groeten, Eric
Thanks for your comment on Welcoming The Rain.. I think both the flower and I were happy to see that rain.. We are in out 3 year of drought conditions.. Not fun.. Your comments are always appreciated..
Hi Paul,
Thanks soooo much for your great comments on "Your Worst Nightmare." I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, it is a self portrait. When I uploaded this shot I was not thinking of it that way...but the person in the picture is me...so I guess that makes it a self portrait! :-)
Kiss for a Dying Wild Flower one of the wildflowers that my wife has planted in the backyard. This one is past its peak but still attractive to the local bug population. Thanks Paul for taking the time to view and comment on this image.
Russ
Hi Paul,
Thank you so much for your very, very, very kind comments on "kiss." I received a digital camera this last Christmas from my mom and dad and haven't stopped taking pictures since. Photograph is one of the loves of my life. I find great satisfaction in a picture that shows either true beauty or a picture that makes the viewer think. I'm flatter/pleased/honored to have your thumbs up! :-) Thanx again! :-)

P.S. I didn't lie in my profile...I'll be 15 August 16th!
Thanks for your comments on "Eurasian eagle owl". He sure looks a bit disturbed... and squint-eyed. Thanks also for posting the Url again, it sure are very nice pic's.
Eric
Thanks for comments on "early morning". Yes, I am generally early to bed, early to rise. I like when the birds are just starting to sing. No I didn't dive in that morning, but in retrospect, I wish I had.
Hi Paul,
I'll trade some of your rain for that blue sky.. We are so dry the yard is turning brown and the rivers and streams are drying up..
Thanks for the comment on Bee.. I am glad you liked it..
Less is more. I totally understand what you were saying! I had asked people to rework this image for me (if they wanted to.) When someone took me up on it...I thought it best to honor them by putting it in my gallery. I must say that I like the original better also...but I didn't want to "burn bridges" by not displaying the rework that Daddyrumpinks did!
I understand what you were saying. It's all about creating the art of suspense. By leaving some holes the viewer is forced to imagine!
Thanks for coming back again to leave that cute comment on “Eurasian Tawny Owl” and "Eurasian Little Owl - Athena Noctua - Steen Uil".
I appreciate you taking the time and very glad you liked it. Gr. Eric
Thanks for the helpful comment! It was very nice. I appreciate you taking the time to look at my picture and help me! =) It means alot. I hope you have a great day!
Good morning Paul
Thank you for stopping by and commenting on "Downstream, Daintree River, Daintree Village". Yes, a very beautiful place. Photos and paintings can only give a hint of the beauty in this part of far north Queensland. Am very glad that you have enjoyed this hint.
Enjoy your day

Thanks Paul for the post on my Spitzbergen shot - I did do quite a bit of enhancement and manipulation to the NASA image and as you noticed it's taken on something of a painted feel to it.
Jekyll Island Beach Nightlife was taken in the darkness. I had to use a flashlight on him so my camera would focus. Actually we did a little high stepping dance until I got him to stop for a minute. I was surprised that he stayed long enough to get several photo before he ran off into the surf. Thanks Paul for the nice comments on this image.

Thank you, Paul, for your fun comment on 'Uhhh...Grill's Ready', I'm glad you liked it--and next time I will be sure to cook some extra for you too! :) Thanks again!
Good morning Paul
My thanks for your enjoyment of "East Palmerstone 02". This was one of a number of places that I had promised myself to stop and take photo's one day. My wife and I are hoping we can afford to buy a small home in the near future in these type of surroundings.
Enjoy your day

Thanks Paul for your comments on two of my butterfly pictures, Bermuda Butterfly and Zygaena Butterfly. The name of the first one is just something that popped up in my mind when I couldn´t find the right name..hehe..the other name is correct...I shot the first one in a Butterfly House and the Zygaena in my garden. It is, of course a bit easier indoors but as you know several attempts are needed to get a photo you´re pleased with. I took at least fifty of the Zygaena and two of them were okay... I´m glad you liked them ! -- Arne --
Thanks again for your compliments, this time on "Ugly Fly".
The fly was so busy jumping and crawling all over the (little) flower so I couldn't get it all sharp and it was gone before I could take another shot. For all that I found its hairy bottom sharp enough, LOL. Groeten, Eric
Well I am about speechless... :) That was one of the nicest compliments I think I have ever received, and for someone who loves taking pictures (but has sooooo much to learn), (me) for you to say that about my work and 'Dignity', that means more than I can express. Thank you so much for your encouragement and for you taking the time to share your own awesome work....I really appreciate it.
Hallo Paul, Thank you kindly for your positive feedback on my damselfly. It took eleven shots to get this one good shot. It sure takes a lot of patience and a dose of luck to get the right shot of any insect. I sure enjoy trying to get the perfect shot, I must admit. Thanks again.
Gr, Fred.
Hi Paul...how are you?...thank you for your complimentary remarks on The Fire Within...very glad you found it of interest and appreciate your time in saying so.:Pat.
Hello Paul! Thanks for the nice comments on my Cicada image. This little guy was dying on my patio so he didn't complain much when I posed him on a near by plant while hundreds of his buddys sang in the trees. I'm glad you like this look at the small world around us.
Russ
Hallo Paul, As always I appreciate your visit and very positive feedback on my waterstriders. Thank you so much. I guess they were a little preoccupied to notice the camera only three inches away ;-)
Sincerely, Fred
Hello Paul! Thanks for the nice comments on my Clearwater Pelican image. One of these guys had a fish hook with some line stuck in his mouth and an old fisherman cleaning fish on the dock caught him and removed the hook. I was glad to see that someone cared enough to help him out.
Russ
Thank you for your kind remarks on the New Hampshire Calm 3 posting. It's clear it's the type of scene that appeals to us both. Glad you liked it. I'll be posting a few more in the series that I trust you'll enjoy.
Hallo Paul, Nice to hear from you again. It can be a bit confusing at first glance but you soon figure it out :-). Thanks again for you positive comment, this time on the Emerald Damselflies.
Gr, Fred
Hi Paul.. My sunflowers are a bit strange.. Thanks for looking at Friendly Grasshopper... That bug is odd, too.. Not the least bit afraid of me.. Glad you enjoyed it.. Appreciated..
Thanks, glad you like my Sunflowers.. It has been so dry here they are doing wonderful.. I sure could use some of that wet.. Send a little my way, please
Thanks for commenting on 'Lit By City Lights', I really appreciate it! I did use flash, and there was some lighting from nearby, so that help a little as well. Thanks again!
Hi Paul
I know it was ages ago but I just wanted to thank you for your comment on "Shade".
Sorry it's taken me so long to say thanks...
Keep Well,
Grant
Paul I am so glad you liked Bryce Canyon. There are several National Parks in Utah that are every bit, if not more, magnificent as this. I appreciate your wonderful comments :)
Hi Paul...thanks a lot for dropping by on Trail Mix...glad you liked it but sorry to hear it makes you sad...I understand how you feel...I love the autumn colors but love the sun and warmth of summer too...this year, I do look forward to cooler temperatures though 'cause we had it pretty hot and humid here...great for the beach but not so nice in the city...anyhow, thanks again for the visit.:Pat.
Thanks Paul.. I appreciate you comment on EEEEEK!!!!! That thing sure scared me last night.. Almost dropped on my head.. I am pleased you liked it the way it is... I took it in a hurry... Mom wanted that thing dead.. it was quite large..
Thanks for commenting on 'In Silence This Way Come', I'm glad you gave me your opinion. I really loved that shot and the slight softening...and it is mine, trying out new stuff as I want to learn more. Would you mind telling me what exactly you don't like about it and why you don't think it fits in with my usual stuff? I value your thoughts and suggestions, so this would be quite helpful for me! :)
Groeten, Eric
Thanks for checking out My Little Mermaid. OH, how much I'd like to get her to go under without that mask. She just won't do it. I think it would make a wonderful shot. Thanks for leaving me a comment on this one. Weather is starting to get cold here in Ohio so there probably won't be any more underwater shots till next summer.
Gr. Eric
Succes!
Paul, I really want to thank you for your comments and show of support for “Together We Stand”. I live, basically, surrounded by farmland. To the East and South it is mostly dry land farming, with wheat the main commodity. To the West and North it’s mostly fruit and other crops dependent on irrigation. I have spent numerous hours and or days photographing the “Green Crops” and very little time in the dry land areas. I started to turn more attention to that area when I saw another image here on Caedes that was some form of grain. This is one of the photographs that resulted because of that image. I wish I could remember who did it; I would like to thank them personally.
The aim of every artist is to arrest motion, which is life, by artificial means and hold it fixed so that a hundred years later, when a stranger looks at it, it moves again since it is life. Since man is mortal, the only immortality possible for him is to leave something behind him that is immortal since it will always move. This is the artist’s way of scribbling; “Kilroy was here” on the wall of the final and irrevocable oblivion through which he must someday pass.

groeten, Fred.
Thanks friend, for dropping by on One Bead At A Time...I appreciate your comments and thoughtful sentiments...yes, it is hard for us just watching to imagine how terrible it really is...a warm-hearted gesture lighting a candle, Paul.:Pat.
Hi Paul and thanks for the nice comment on "Evening Sun",it is verry much appreciated.
Thank you for the nice comments on "Cladonia on the Rocks" and "Natures Strive for Perfection". You should post your Cladonia shot with the Ice Crystals, that would be a treat!
Thanks for the comments on "Carriage Driving Horse Show". This guy (and the 2 on the back of the carriage from which you only can see one helmet) gave such a speed that it would be unwise not to wear a helmet. I saw 2 carriages fall down.... and yes I took a picture of those events too. Anyway, thanks again for your nice words.
Groetjes, Eric
Hey there, tks for your recent comments on Sunshiny!
The reason for the purchase of the 35 mm camera, was for the better zoom and quality on images. I find the digital camera that I have just doesn't do it for me anymore! Great for the macros sometimes but that is all.
JuneBug
Thank you for the kind words today. It always means a lot to hear from you. I'm still feeling bad about not thanking you enough for all the great comments you have made on my work.
I like the way you commented on "Pasture by the Creek". I know exactly what you mean. You will be happy to know it's surrounded by roads and houses that doesn't quite mix with this piece of "perfect" landscape. ^_^
Sometimes one can use the camera to "adjust" reality a bit. Just by simply choosing not to take some parts of an environment into the composition of the shot. It's a very beautiful piece of nature but it's not a big place. It takes perhaps five or ten minutes to walk the length of this small ravine (far beyond what can be seen in that shot) but it's only as wide as you can see there. On the left side is the outskirts of the city I live in and on the right is some flat agricultural landscape that is far from interesting...
I'm really glad you liked my spider shot too. :)
Cheers, I'll try to get in touch the next few weeks... ;)
Thanks Paul for the nice comments on Beyond the Blues...glad you enjoyed it...no, not one I expect to see or capture again anytime soon...also appreciate your feedback on Fire and Ice (Rework) and the help of a friend here who fixed up a tilted horizon...many thanks.:Pat.
When I first saw this patch of thistles, it had about 5 Butterflies on it. Soon all but one was gone. I took dozens of photos of this little guy to get my Butterfly Kisses image. They are always moving and it's hard to get a good capture. Thanks Paul for viewing and posting a comment.
Russ
Thank you Paul for viewing and commenting on my Backyard Dragon Fly 2 image. This was taken in the late afternoon with the light comming from behind the subject. I used my cameras telephoto-macro mode and a fill flash to darken the background and get a better depth of field. I'm glad that you like it.
Russ
Hi Paul...thanks a lot for your visit and nice comments on Burnt Orange...glad you liked it...I too, prefer full screen to framed images...unfortunately, this is an older photo, 800 x 600 and I doubt it can be enlarged without serious distortion...therefore the addition of the frame to enlarge it slightly for desktop usage...sorry about that...also, I expect to be back on a regular basis soon...tks again.:Pat.
Cheers Paul, for your comments to my Photo - Feb Autumn - I have had the great pleasure in viewing your work, and think they are 'crackin' I see you do a lot of 'Macro' shots,
I will have to sort some of mine to let you have a look
hello Paul, thanks for your kind words on standing tall 2. you recognized it correctly, it is the great hypostyle hall in karnak or whatever they call it:)
Dag Paul,
Bedankt !
Thanks for your compliments on "Stinkhorn (Phallus Impudicus) Stinkzwam". This one is without flies but sometimes they're "blue all over" by these flies sitting on the head. The mushroom season has started so I hope to see some nice pictures of them from you too.
I search for the Red Fly Agaric mushroom which I think is the most beautiful one.
Gr. Eric
Thank you for the kind words about my recent sunset photo...I see so many of them here and always love each one...somehow I think being near the ocean makes them all the more colourful...thank you again for your nice comments!!
Also the comments you made about the swayback barn..is very much to think on..thank you so much for enjoying it. ITs true, these places will be gone forever, and pieces of history disppear..but at least we DO have the memories on photos..thank you sooo much!!!
Your comment about my RIckety Ol Barn photo is sooo much appreciated! I enjoy Wilderness North with his talents...just wish it would rub off on me a bit more..thanx again!
Thanks for your reaction on "Up to the Sky (Cross Spider)". Yes, I know, it's not easy to get these creatures all sharp, legs - body and web - With a nice background. 2 out of 4 is possible, 3/4 hard to get, 4/4 not yet succeeded.
I saw your "garden spider" and it's a 3/4. Hope you will make your 4/4 soon. I know you can. Groeten Eric
Hi Paul,
Groeten

Paul thans for your comments on the Heritage series. I too am drawn the western images and culture. My wall have images of Wolves, Monument Valley, Bev Doolittle prints. I'm glad you like them.
Hi Paul: You are right it is remakable that they look so much alike. I wonder if they are related in the animal kingdom.
I do appreciate your comments on "Pit Stop".
You're right it does kind of look like a Tom-Cat ready for take off.
Bad artists always admire each other’s work. They call it being large-minded and free from prejudice. But a truly great artist cannot conceive of life being shown, or beauty fashioned, under any conditions other than those he has selected.

Hej Paul. Nice to see you liked my the mushroom family shot from above on Shroom Composition. It´s very much a composition play with simple shapes and colors. Thanks for your comment. -- Arne --
Hi Paul...thanks a lot for your amusing and approving comments on Welcome to my web site...glad you enjoyed it...also very glad I didn't run into any spiders.:Pat.
Hi Paul, I am smiling because as I respond to your words on "Fluttering Flowers", I am thinking I bet you as well as others would wish my favorite color was something other than Pink! LOL! Seriously, many thanks to you for your comments! Please stop by again Paul! Sincerely, Marilyn
Beth (my sister) thanks you for commenting on Sunbathing Clematis! She's started her own account! Bdayfun Check out her gallery and give her some encouragement!! Thanks tons and bushels!!
I just came from viewing your galleries ... so many that I really enjoyed and given the time here (Canada), I must refrain from commenting on them individually for now.
I did, however, want to acknowledge how good your work is, for the time being and say ... thank you for sharing.
Hi there and thank you bigtime for your words on my last barn photo...The Fantastic Old Barn...there are so many barns like this in the whole Pacific Northwest...I think much of that goes back to the Oregon Trail...thanx again...sure made me smile!!
thank you so much for your comment on "coherent", im glad you enjoy it so much. i thought that the colour might have to change, i wasnt sure about it. but you have reasured me, thank you. i have edited the description of the image as to why i did it and how. if you care ot read. thanks again:)
Hi Paul...thanks a lot for your visit and positive feedback on Country Charm...glad you liked it...yes, I too wished it was my place but *sigh* not so...tks again...I appreciate your stopping to view.:Pat
Hi Paul, thanks for your nice comment on "The Fly".... I'm glad you like it.
I posted the answer to your question underneath your comment. Let me tell you that I find your work very remarkable.... a lot of really great and outstanding pictures from you. Thank you for watching my pics and expressing your opinion about them.
Thanks for the comment on my "Super Macro Mode", like you say it's the abstract quality of the photo that I like. It was a close-up of a pear by the way. :)
"A piece of toast with butter always lands butter side down, and a cat always lands on its feet. What happens if a piece of toast is tied butter side down to the back of falling cat? Does it hover above the ground in perpetual indecision?"
funny you should say horror story my gran used to scare us as kids about the forest whos edge you can just see in the photo, about the critters of the night that dwell deep within those dark shadows
the whole village is very ery even during the day!!
mostly cos its one of those typical hammer house of horror locations... héhé

Thank you Paul for your visit and nice comments on Me, Myself, and I...glad you liked it...a simple shot but I thought it was kinda' cute...as for rules, I break all kinds of them, I'm sure...sometimes it works, lol.:Pat.

Hello Paul. I'm glad that you took the time to view and comment on my Mountain Stream Beauty image. Thank you for the nice comments. I appreciate your support. I would have gone farther up stream but the large rock out cropping on the left stopped me.
Russ
Hi there Paul,
Thanks for the positive feedback on "Friends", I don't normally post people shots but this one seemed to be a tad different from the norm. Even if it wasn't my son, I would still like it just for it's subject matter.....John
Hey Paul,
Good Morning Paul'
Thank you so very much for your kind comment about my, Mount Princeton and Cottonwood Trees. I am truly humbled by your words. I have never photographed these beautiful trees in the past as they are easily overlooked when the Aspens are in color. Since we missed the Aspens this year we turned to the Cottonwoods for color. Much more difficult to photograph. They are now on my list of fall colors. I hope that you can visit some day to enjoy the beauty of my country, especiallyl Colorado.

Paul, thanks for taking a look at "Care". I know what you mean about helping them, but there are so many! It really is sad to see the conditions so many orphans live in. As for the picture being dark, I always thought people were crazy when commenting on my images, but then I took a look at a few while at the library. I guess it really depends on the monitor, but I could try lightening them. Thanks for the advice.
Also, thanks for commenting on "Trouble with a T".
I cut out the center cow, then switched the image to a b&w. I added yellow and then orange to make it a bit more sepia-ish, followed by substantial decreases in brightness and contrast. I softened the whole thing a great deal to make it seem more abstract, then I patched in the full color cow in the center with normal brightness and contrast. The other cows look like I changed the colors a bit, but the trees and river are the big give away that the environment is not in color.
Hi Paul,
Thanks a lot for agreeing with me on the healing effect of glorious autumn colours !!!
For me this October [=as beautiful as we have it in Poland this year] could and should last the whole year ! Temperatures slightly over/below 20 degrees C and sunny ...
Hey there Paul...glad you are back!! Missed you aNd your comments...thank you for the one for my black and white garlic posting. Hope to see some of your new pics soon..thanx again!!
H there Paul...thank you so much for your complimentary words on Secrets of the Swamp...it's much appreciated and I'm pleased you liked it...yes, got my feet abit wet but it's not the first time and probably won't be the last, lol...tks again.:Pat.
Paul;
Thank you for your very kind words about my Cottonwoods along the Arkansas River. Everything that you see is real. I hope that you can visit Colorado one day. When you do send me a PM and I will show you parts of this wonderful state that will take your breath away.

Hi Paul, many thanks for viewing "Citrus Autumn"! Paul, it is so strange, that you would mention 'painting', because I had already thought about that very thing! Your comment prompted me to dedit and add my two favorite artists, Renoir and Monet! Originally, I didn't have that in the description, because I thought it was self-flattery! Thanks, because it does remind me of one of their paintings! Sincerely, Marilyn
Thank you for the kind comments on my recent images. And thank you for taking my comments on your work the right way! I'm glad you don't feel I'm "criticizing" (I didn't think you would either). The way I see it (and the way I feel you receive it) I'm just leaving constructive input for eventual consideration in future. :) It has little to do with how much I enjoy the work you do. (That is: Very much!) Different opinions is part of everyday life. This is no exception. ^_^ I feel it only enriches us in our life. That's the beauty of exchanging points of views for me, and I imagine for you too. ;)
Thank you Paul for your comforting words on the "cucumber frog". I have already done some cropping and I am afraid I would lose the focus if tried to crop it further. The only solution would be to upload a smaller photo in a boder... Thank you once more for your opinion.
Believe me or not I hate rainy, dark fall evenings and when I go out of work it is almost completely dark. Awful. I guess it makes me feel depressed. Anyway I managed to capture some beauty in this leaf despite the horrible weather (completely wet). That is why I would like to thank you very much for your nice words. I am glad you liked it. It really took me almost half an hour to get the right shot.
Thank you for your nice words on the "fall colour palette". I am glad you liked it. I guess it captures the essence of the colourful season and that may be the reason for its popularity. Stay tuned.
I am glad you discovered my cheerful "smile trigger" and left me such a nice comment. I wonder why didn't it make you smile? It is full of sunlight and seems so light and delicate. I hope it will make you cheerful some day (perhaps when the snow is all around).
Many thanks Paul for your lovely comment on «m o o s e».... I'm glad than you liked it and I wish than you meet this beautiful animal!! It's a very majestic animal...
Hi Paul,
thnx for your comment on Papaver Now I know its a popyflower :)
Its not realy a B&W picture, its more Sephia. The purple popyflower seed pod looks better on a Sephia background then on a B&W background and also to try something else ;)
Good question... I believe a good portrait is better as a desktop background then an ordinary flower shot (or what ever). I'm not the best person to ask perhaps since I don't personally use that many backgrounds but the ones I make myself... (What can I say, I like my own style... ^_^) On the other hand I collect thousands of images here as pieces of art I look at from time to time to get inspired of and perhaps one day grow as an artist. :)
I think caedes is not only a site for great desktops but also an "art" and "artist" site. I believe in other words that portraits with artistic merit, definitively your excellent pieces, have a place here. I could say that there are more then a few "snapshot" style images of people here, but I dare say they don't qualify for being considered in this discussion. ;)
Hello Paul, please don't leave...I love looking at your photography, especially the portraits. You give me inspiration where I need it most...mushrooms are easy targets! To catch an expression isn't, and you do that well. Keep it up:-)
Also, thank you for coming to my side and commenting on "White Oysterette". Always appreciated my friend.
Thank you Paul for the comment on "That Autumn Glow". I know what you mean. I don't consider this to be *that* bad rating though. ^_^ I've seen much worse on pieces I liked far better. (Only with c-index below 30 I will be get really displeased...)
I hear you on the DOF issue. I'll see the next time the opportunity comes up for a similar shot. ^_^
Thanks for all your comments on koringkriek! He is about the size of your thumb (4cm - 5cm). They are harmless, but they are known to eat their own kind if there are not enough plants to eat. They are part of the grasshopper family and can be quite a pest as there can be millions of them at one time. The roads get full of them as they come and feast on the ones that got ran over. They can't fly either. No wings like the grasshopper.
Paul, I just had tell you I've viewed your gallery and am in awe of the works of art your produce. I won't want to miss any of your images so I added you to my friends list. Thanks so much for sharing your talent! - Patty
Hello Paul. Froggie caught mt attention so I took a peek at your gallery. I really like your style. You're very talented. I'm looking forward to more of your posts!
