Having been a graphic designer for nearly 28 years I often find myself having to come up with new ways to utilize my photos and illustrations so as to not become simply a meat grinder of images. New uses of art. It occurred to me that many of you may have ideas for using our art in ways other than as a wallpaper, unless of course you actually DID wallpaper your dining room in your artwork -- come to think of it, a giant, scary, eyeball-like fractal on the wall would make for an interesting spot to seat your obnoxious brother-in-law -- he'd have to look at it each time his head came up from his soup bowl :'O
Anyway, I'll start the ideas:
I just finished wrapping my wife's Christmas gifts and instead of the standard, run-of-the-mill gift tags, I set up and printed 1-1/4" x 2" copies (on matte photo paper) of a photo I took of her in Glacier National Park a few months ago, grinning and wearing my photographer's vest (oversized on her). When my son pulls the gifts out from under the tree he'll know exactly who they're for.
If you've ever wanted to make a difference but found it hard to believe that one person could... check out the Kiva Team Caedes discussion thread and discover that anything is possible.
