Of the three topics, fractalists could create images that look so macro they'd almost appear microscopic. I know I've seen it in the past from some of our skilled computer artists, but I'm not sure about Water or This Is Me. I always like to see a topic chosen that a wide range of people and styles can enter. Just sayin'.

Been trying to get this in at the outset of the Contest Topic Polls:

Try to keep in mind, when suggesting a topic:

i) Open to all genres of art. Not just photography.
ii) Add a short description (one or two lines is sufficient) , so 'we' know what the artistic aim/intention of the subject matter is.
iii) Try not to repeat previous topics.

'Water', for example.. could have been 'generalized' to the concept of 'fluidity'.

Maybe.. 'Blue', as the dominant colour for image submissions.

Or.. perhaps, 'motion'.

(This is where it helps to.. 'Add a short description', if you put up a topic/theme for consideration.)

And might then be more open to creative interpretation by some of our CGI members (some fractalists, in particular).

Not criticizing whomever put up 'Water'.. just some food for thought for the future.

'We' really should be striving for more inclusive topics, don't 'yous' agree?

After approx 134 contests it does become a bit difficult to come up with something new that is appropriate for all genres.
We had water once before.

In this poll I voted for macro as I think it is a wider subject that could be used by all.

A suggestion I made some time back is that the winner of the current contest chooses the subject for the next one.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

So... since the two top themes are tied at 13, does that mean the submissions need to be a macro created while the artist is submerged under water (not good for most cameras or laptops), water shot under macro considerations (that would be like... ummm... water, right?), or a Triskaidekaphobic (fear of the number 13) Caedesian photographing fractal-shaped spots on the carapace of a water bug (okay, now he's just being weird)? So who resolves the tie?

And no, I am not sure how the Topic was decided between the two that tied.

I was planning on a macro shot of a water drop But I have dropped the idea after reading Nik's comment.

I was going to go with an underwater shot of some water molecules, myself.... :-)
