Night photography - outdoors or indoors in candlelight or
ceiling light, street lights or moon light. There are so many options here for all.

Has this officially become a photographers-only site?

I meant, there are artists in other mediums here that should not be excluded - or expected to borrow a camera. Contests should be open to all mediums.

There are some here who do fractals or abstracts only or some who post their own paintings. Even when the topic is something easy there are so few entries these days compared to what it used to be. With fractals it will be still less. We have had abstracts as theme some time ago. If you are interested in having something other than photos as topic you could suggest it here at any time. Caedes has never insisted that it should be photos only.

I agree with Hannah that the topics should be broad enough to include fractals, CGI etc. Perhaps "night scenes" would have encompassed all.

Yes, or even just "Night". That would allow for photography, abstracts, paintings, anything. But "Night Photography" explicitly excludes all other mediums.
I'm not at all suggesting that the topic should be just fractals or abstracts or any other medium - that's what I'm arguing against!

Okay then people, what if we, in the few remaining hours, were to switch our votes from the Night Photography option to one titled simply "Night?" I will start it myself with the new option (and I also like to leave it open to all mediums but I also agree that it's not often that the submissions fill more than a single page of 12--I remember when the contests drew a lot more action).
