Personal History is something I don't believe has ever been used as a contest theme. Think about it for a moment: what has been the primary reason for photography for most families, ever since photography became inexpensive enough--look at Rob's submissions for a perfect example? How do we learn anything about our personal histories and background without oral traditions? Why are historic "dress up" photos so popular at historic destinations like Deadwood, SD? Historic photos of family. I don't mean ugly polaroid snapshots but images that tell a unique story or setting that many other people can identify with. Just a thought.

There are so many topics of different denominations to select, not just a cross, or a stained glass windows They can include 'Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Jewish, Catholicism etc.
Well, these contests here at Caedes seem a bit too tame for my taste, Bruce. People want safe, simple, warm-and-fuzzy, with not much challenge. You should check out the contests at sites like NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) and 500px. Fantastic results.

I think religion or "Religious" is a good one, vast possibility. I also think some will vote just due to the type that was placed or post. still after all these yrs a very bias subject. that's too bad! in my country alone its a very heated topic right now. not sure i will participate and just leave this one alone. personal history? hummmm that's a good one to consider in the near future. these topic's need to become more exciting more broadened or expanded yet at the same time keep in mind the word simplicity. something like the word ridiculous, or even simplicity itself. everyone tries to think far too hard. Photography is a subject thats simple yet the creativity around it is what matters(since this site is now just about based on photography alone, another same!) use the option of just one word that's not a noun...opens the door to lots of possibilities to everyone. now your judging you really have to think to decide, not to mention your posting. until then? this contest has become mundane and repetitive...even to topics that haven't be picked before...seems like the same ol' song and dance. all im saying in open your minds! idk maybe im wrong, wouldnt be the first and sure not the last time. just a thought with my coffee. to all that reads? have a good day!
