We already have thousands of fine nature pictures, and I love them all. But please vote at something different. Vote for a theme with imagination, creativity, real challenge, etc: ! John
It is known that there is an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the product of a deranged imagination.
If you click on "All Contests", just below that of "Contest Topic Poll" (top or upper left-hand side of this page) ... that will bring to you the page of past contests.
From there, a quick check reveals that 'Bokeh'/'Depth of Field' has already been done.

Was a good good topic, perhaps a little too soon to repeat though.
I think DOF is more than bokeh. Bokeh is a smaller category. I don't like topics like Natures Finest. That can be everything, and where is the challange? (Okay. Humor/Balance can be also good.)

bokeh is interesting but im thinking more as a painting (of course) i second the nature comment, there are so many fine and beautiful pictures of nature but lets go out of the box, and also pick something that people understand or isn't too ambiguous, like balance

I have a humble and simple request.. that I hope will be answered, so as to enlighten us all.
That of..
Whomever suggested "Natures Finest" ... to provide a brief explanation of this possible topic/subject.
It appears to be far too ambiguous and open-ended of a topic to my mind (and somewhat photographic-centric) ... that I foresee the contest gallery being filled with landscapes, bird, animal, flower .. and so forth, imagery.
well, being "nature's finest" isn't elucidated as to what the scope is, im going with the contest topic meaning: anything organic, accordingly, the fda believes in not defining this word either so i think we should post anything and everything for this. nature made everything we've created as humans, chemicals, materials, machines, pencils, paint.. the scope is endless to our understanding down this line. where is the creativity, the difficulty, the thought.

Still one day to go !.It seems "Natures finest" is going to win, but we can stop this (Yes we can !) Balance is a very good theme, so I sugest that all creative voters change their vote(s) today, and vote for 'Balance' ! John
