Horsing Around-Chapter Thirty Five

I'm sorry I'm not able to show you a clear picture of myself, but I've been relocated and must keep my new identity and whereabouts a secret. This horse protection program is really good. I'll try to give you what little background information I can without jeopardizing my upcoming court case.

I was born and raised in Amish country and it wasn't too bad until I got big enough to be out on my own. About that time they started putting all kinds of straps and harnesses on me and before I knew it I was pulling a buggy. Well I could had lived with that, but the next thing they did was hook me to this thing that turned the ground upside down. Stuck this other horse next to me and let me tell you he had some kind of odor. I don't think he ever got in the pond. And his breath, ooohhh those wild onions aren't like clover. Know what I mean? When I would get through with my duties at moving earth, they'd having me pulling this big wagon full of hay and they wouldn't even let me have a bite. We did all this from sunup to sundown. I figured enough was enough. When they were through with me at the end of the day I'd go up to the neighbors fence and talk to old Bob. He would tell me how easy he had it and how he only had to worry about the grandkids.Bob put me in touch with the Vet, who put me in touch with a horse trader who turned me on to a member of the animal activists. I gave them the lowdown on the working conditions in exchage for this plush job at .... Gee, what a ninny I am. I almost gave away my location. I might have exaggerated the working conditions but at the rate I was going, I was headed for an early bottle of Elmer's glue. I'm not totally free by any means, but I get three squares a day and I hitched my future to a saddle instead of a wagon. Gotta go, it's about dark and I have to hit the hay.

Well, it is getting close to time to leave for work, so I must type this in a Fury. My fingers just Flicka over the keys with a might hi o Silver. I feel like a Champion but am probably just a Buttercup. If the truth were to be known, I am getting a little long in the tooth.

All this said, I just wanted to let you know that I liked "Makes good horse sense ...." and it only makes sense to do so!

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Think my grandson who's fond of horse images will not be that enthousiastic by this 'anonymous' horse image Tick, but think when I explain your wonderful narrative to him, he will understand that you were forced to capture this horse that way because of the 'horse privacy protection program', lol. His granddad, however, enjoyed this picture very much, mainly because of its amazing Missouri coloured sky.
Thanks a lot!

Tick,
That sky looks like there is some sort of electrical storm, setting fire to the clouds or something. That is a pretty neat effect, what ever it is you did. Sorry but I have to blow your cover....Mr. Ed.
Great narative and picture. How about getting a job writing for SNL or something like that? Maybe Mad TV.

Shouldn't the horse be riding into the sunset? Tick, this is a fabulous picture, such rich colours. This one of the best sunsets that I've seen on the site and it definitely goes into faves.

This is just so western... I know it's Missouri, but hey from Cape Cod, that's in the West, and with that sky, the fence and the horse's silhouette I'm starting to hear songs about desperados ridin' into the sunset..

I regret that I never commented on this for some reason. The sunset alone is sensational in color and composition and then you add the silhouetted horse and you have a wonderful image! I wrote to that website and told them it wasn't right to take your image and they should remove it because it wouldn't speak well of the site if they didn't do something about it.
Oops! I see that I did indeed comment on this before. Don't even recognize my old avie! lol Maybe it's got something to do with my name!
