The window might be small, but trust me it was very essential if you were the last one to use it or there was a serious updraft. I also put this in the Nature category because it was Nature's call that sent you scurrying to the outhouse.

The half moon is not visible because "mooning" is illegal in Northern Missouri. Sit down, enjoy and pass the Sears Catalog.

I see this owner provided cross ventilation with windows on both ends. A nicely captured scene, Tick. Good post work on the photo. Nice lighting and colours to go with the view.

Hello Ron....They were funny looking buildings, that were once a way of life,if you couldn’t sprint the distance, then you really were in strife....A fine picture of this old rustic outhouse....Well done...All the very best to you Ron....Mick.

Hey, TicK...

I had no idea that there were any outhouses left. Most states have laws about septic systems, sewer lines and the like. The old pit of poop under an outhouse doesn't meet most ordinances these days.

Love the nostalgic view of the world through your eyes. While chemical portapotties are the rage at construction sites, it's been years since I graced an outhouse. It always grossed me out that there were so many bees buzzing around the bomb bay door. It made me wonder what the honey tasted like. If I remember I'll send you some news clippings about the outhouse at Montana de Oro State Park.

Love the colors. This must be another old spring time shot.

Not sure how this 'building' is oriented, but I think I'd like the door on the opposite side and left open to take in the view. Of course, I can't see what's on this side so maybe there is a better view. I like the color quality this lens/camera produce.

Nice shot Tick!! I remember the outhouses well. We had one until my daddy came home from the Army...then we were able to afford indoor plumbing thank God. Ours was almost to the end of the driveway and you can just imagine living in the country with all the night noises and having to walk that far.

Tick, it looks so isolated, and a great view beyond, my grandparents had one many moons ago, and I do remember using it.

I remember these ... use to be an outhouse on the farm I live on now. They always seem to be located far from the house & under a tree. I love the colors & how you caught the lighting. Excellent capture, Tick.
