This Twin Spires Catholic Cathedral really stands out in the town of St. Joseph, Missouri. It is one of the cities many landmarks. You can read more about it here.

You can also see it up close here.

I read about this elsewhere...This was the old Cathedral of St. Joseph itself (for which the town derives its name), before they consolidated the Diocese into Kansas City...I think the church of the presiding Bishop is there...

I've always liked the design of dual-spired Gothic churches and cathedrals...My favorite is the Kolner Dom in Cologne, Germany...

Ohh...I forgot...this one, too...

Nice post, Cap'n...Faved...

It does look like a German town Tick. The cathedral with its tall spires looks very impressive. Beautiful capture with nice colours.

That a very interesting story Tick, your presentation looks very good like Raj said nice colors. The town near my home is similar to this. There is on old church that still has the tunnels under it from the days when slaves would seek shelter.

If one spire is good then two must be better. I want to see more of this Cathedral if you'll oblige.

Seems to be an old town..I notice the mansion next to the cathedral would be more at home in the UK!..The portion you have snapped also has it's dereliction too!...

Lots to look at..but those spires stand prominent over them all!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Nice composition of the scene and capture of the town scape Tick. I see a lot of similar architecture styles in the buildings around here. Nice lighting and tones in the photo.
