I got a chance to go for a drive the other day and I stopped on this bridge (unseen) to take some shots of the river. Evidently the swallows call the underbelly of this bridge home. There is nothing attractive about the bridge. Just a cement slab with concrete railing. The swallows must like the cool underneath to build their mud packed nests. It really isn't named Swallow Bridge. The locals just call it the cement bridge. The way the swallows flew out when they sensed me walking on it was amazing. Maybe someday I can return and get a shot of the underneath side. I did go to the boat ramp and take a photo of the bridge. The boat ramp is about two thirds of the way down the river on the right. Have a good weekend. Eat your heart out Capistrano.

You are lucky to snap the Swallows...not many seen where I live...you snapped a good perspective here...it shows the water level dropping.

Good view well captured with all the birds and the river. The swallows don't know that they are safer under the bridge than when they fly off. It will be interesting to see how it looks under the bridge.

You got right in the thick of it with swallows, Tick. It's a nice river scene. I know you were glad to get out for some fresh air.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), I know you're curious about the underneath side view of the bridge. The result may be disappointing and it probably will not reach the high level of this fine photograph. But seeing is believing, 😜 . If you would start this 'adventure', I wish you good luck!

Fine shot Tick. Such an enormous number of swallows !

I visited San Juan Capistrano once - never saw one swallow - must have been the wrong time of year. The Mission was a wonderful place to look around.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

That is an amazing shot. Sooooooo many birds. they dip and dive around our cabin. A couple of times I've caught one on the ground and photographed it. I'd love to go there with my camera. Are you using a cel phone for photos. I use mine for lots of stuff.
