The Wind Turbines are new to my area, so I am still fascinated by them. I know many of you have had them for years, but if you could be patient, this too will pass. It was a beautiful day yesterday and the Missus and I took a drive. I wanted a photo that depicted the wind turbines and the farming community. This is one I found.

That is massive and beautiful, Tick. The portrait view is the right choice for this picture. We don't have these here for the wind is fickle. I like this.

When I saw the title...I thought you might be in a skyscraper bathroom!...lol

😉😁🤣
They say these are an eye-sore...but I would rather see these than those horrible Pylons that carries wires/cables.

Well composed shot with the tall Wind turbine against the sky. I just checked How many there are in Germany - ca. 29500 !

Great sky in this shot Tick and I agree with portrait view for this beauty. (I don't have them around me so I join you in the fascination)

I have read that in many parts of the country, farmers are making money by leasing the land under the wind turbines. Thus they are able to earn extra income to pay off their farm equipment loans and money for other necessities of life. The normal wind turbine needs about a "two car garage" plot of land under it.

We have quite a few of them around the countryside here. They are an amazing sight to see when compared to buildings around or close by. This is a beautiful capture, shows how massive they really are.

Owd Fella Tick (OFT), we have wind turbines in my area for already many years. We are now dotted with it. For those reasons, we can properly determine the advantages and disadvantages. Extracting energy in a natural way is an asset from an environmental point of view. The monotonous hum, the drop shadows, and the many birds that are victims of the giant wings are a disadvantage however.
Do me, to a certain extent, think about this song, in particular the phrase: "'Cause for everything you win, there's something lost."

Both supporters and opponents will agree with me that you have provided us with a beautiful photograph however. Well worth becoming S+F, so I did. Thanks for sharing it,👍 !

I do like the composition of your image Tick - the immediate position of the wind turbine with the barn in the distance - the hay bales, the red barn and that azure sky simply enhance your shot - Excellent work indeed!!!!!!!!

A very good shot Tick ...does give pause to think wind or solar power and which fits beter in the landscape well time will tell.

Such a beautiful sky to compliment your well composed shot, I find them interesting, but like Mr. C. said they are a danger to birds! tigz=^..^=
