What an incredibly beautiful bird - wonderful to just see him perched there on the fence! I would go wild with excitement if I saw a bird like this so close - he seems quite happy in your company. lovely shot! Patti

A gorgeous parrot Anita. I love it's pose on the fence & seems aware of your presence, but very comfortable. The framing works well here. Thank you for sharing.
Parrots are my favorite birds, for several reasons, the coloring of their feathers, their nice round eyes, and a lot of parrots have learned to co-excist and interact with humans.
The fact that they are no preditors, but just peacefull seed or fruit eaters has something to do with me liking them as well.
In my region there are no parrots in the wild, what a pitty, i just imaging going outside
and seeing something like this, well it can make your day right for starters.
Thanks for sharing the moment Anita !

Looks like she's got her feather all ruffled up about something. There's so much to like in this pic, esp the colors of the parrot, but it's also how you positioned the bird in the capture itself. I find the border a little distracting, given how wonderful the pic is all by itself :)PJ
Very nice shot. I would probably have framed it differently to avoid distracting from the focus of the picture, but that's just me. You captured that parrot very nicely. I love his colors and detail.
A Double Yellow Headed Amazon - I know them well. They're very vocal and pretty much do as they please. How fun that he came to share your patio, Anita! - Patty
I would have been so excited to have seen this parrot so closely Anita. It certainly is beautiful too. How lucky you were that it chose your patio. Thanks for sharing with us .
Nice shot Anita! The fence colours act as a good foil to the subject and I particularly like the way you managed to catch the flush of red in his tail feathers.
Beautiful capture! His color is spectacular. Your exposure is very good because even though the green bird is backed up to a green background, he's well defined. I'm not too crazy about the the wide band of red in the frame. I think maybe a narrow strip would have worked a bit better. The way it is kind of draws my attention from the subject to the frame. It's a great shot. anne :-)
Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)
I love the contrasts in this shot. Aside from the obvious (colors - green vs brown) the textural contrast between the feathers and the woodgrain background and the shape of the bird bisecting the angular shapes of the wall are excellent. I think I'd have been tempted to position the bird a bit to the left to give it some "room to look into", but the photo is a very good one.
This is indeed a beautiful bird, Anita. What a surprise this must have been! Nice composure, glorious colors, great capture - something you'll remember forever....Neil
This is a great photo. Was this bird tame? I have a friend who has one as a pet, and it talks and sings five different songs. They're as intelligent as they are beautiful. Thanks for sharing this!
