Oh, this is so arrestingly beautiful...and I haven't had a chance to comment on any of yours for a while..first I have to ask you..to the left of the fisherman..what kind of bird is that? Is it real? If so, he looks like he's waiting for the fisherman to lure in something so he can steal it away..lol..if not, you're a jump ahead of me on an idea of mine to post some pink flamingos :) ...anyway, what a great time of the day to fish and to fish around for photos..the sky is perfect here, and I love how the red reflection pans out so perfectly over the calm waters. It's also of interest to me that none of the gold in the sky got picked up in the reflection..funny how things like that have a life of their own.. The other thing I really like about this is the way the trees intersect the barrier out past the shoreline and that other short wharf to the left, giving this some interesting natural frames within the shot providing some strength to what is ultimately a lovely, soft sunrise scene :)PJ

What a lovely shot. Having the fisherman and the (heron?) in the shot, really makes this into a story picture. I love it. It is also very calm and soothing. Beautiful coloration and composition. The lighting was perfect.

Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel. -Josemaria Escriva

That bird looks like a Blue HEron...we have them here in ORegon..oh gosh, this is such a MOST lovely photo setting! You were so fortunate to see this!! What a beautiful sunrise...and you know, the clouds inside the big cloud almost look like a reflection of the fisherman...sooooo kewl. Are those actually palm trees? in Texas? I dont think I knew they grew there . I lived near Fort Worth for a while...this is just an outstanding shot that you should be very very proud of. Verena

I just knew I was going to love this Anita as soon as I saw the thumbnail and I was right.I can almost feel the quietness coming from this photo. I see his "new" friend to the left trying to be coy. This is an excellent photo that speaks for itself Anita. Into my favorites this is going for sure. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

"Think I'll fish" with is subtle colors, imaginative compostion, and perfect exposure is a real knockout, Anita. The smattering of sunrise (sunset?) with its reflectivity on the water greatly enhances the image, bringing it all together,so to speak. You have taken us to a fisherman's dream world. I'm wondering is that a heron or possibly an egret? - once again, you've added mystery to complete the presentation...Neil TYU
