Was walking through the Houston Arboretum over the weekend and found this hibiscus all by itself in a shaded spot. Enjoy and thanks for stopping by. Anita
I just love the way you capture light and shadow, Anita! I am no expert on exposures and all that"correctness" - I just admire the mood your photos convey! Thank you for sharing this lovely Hibiscus!

Thanks to all who comment on pictures in my gallery. Please accept my apologies if I am unable to thank you each time, and please don't feel obligated to thank me for my comments.
If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away. Henry D. Thoreau
Never rebuke while you’re still indignant about a fault committed—wait until the next day, or even longer. Then calmly, and with a purer intention, make your reprimand. You’ll gain more by a friendly word than by a three-hour quarrel.

My first instint was "not enough light." But after I enlarged to full-screen, I changed my mind. I Iike the shadows in this instance. It's like a hidden treasure. I like that angle as well. Nice shot with good contrast despite the poor lighting. Very pretty. anne :-)
Don't tell me it's good, tell me what is good about it. Don't tell me it stinks, tell me what I can do do improve it. Thank you for taking the time to tell me anything at all. Be blessed. anne :-)
This flower is stunnig and the clarity of the petals are great. I like the colours and the composition. It also makes a great desktop. Thanks for sharing
This is one of the most peaceful images that I have seen in along time Anita. I can almost feel the moisture and the humidity in the air as this hibiscus lounges in the shade and just shows off!! Good eye for a good capture my friend.
Thanks for the warm words on ~lurking~. I couldn't believe that this hawk stayed long enough for me to get a shot off with my camera. Usually they are gone in a few seconds, especially when they suspect someone is looking. I hope you enjoy looking at him on your desktop.....that is quite an honor for me. Thanks again for stopping by!
I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye.
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly.
