Maria Woerth is one of the best bases for visiting Carinthia's largest alpine lake, the Woerther See. The village's Gothic Parish Church has a baroque interior and a Romanesque crypt. It's noted for its 15th-century main altar. The circular Karner (charnel house) in the yard, with a round tower, was built in 1278. Nearby is another noted church, the Rosenkranzkirche, from the 12th century, often referred to as "the winter church." It has some Romanesque frescoes of the Apostles from that century. This is the view from one to the other church. Hmmm, which one was which one?????

I see it is situated on a half insl. The church seen through the portal is the Maria Wörth. I noticed that they have a aussicht turm to ! (Piramid Kogel) the view must be great from there.

I really like the way you perpected this through the arch. It looks like the building in the front has seen quite a few years of history and worshipers and is in need a bit of repair. I think those are the frescoes atop this arch?
