No, I didn't create this shot from scratch. I ran out the back door in nothing but a bathrobe, stepped on a nasty thorn, fought the wind, and put up with my husband laughing his butt off at me while I took this. I took a short series of shots involving this fast moving cloud. I spent the best part of twenty minutes digging the thorn out of my foot later but I think it was worth it. Enjoy.

Wild shot.

That's a good good thing. :o)

It isn't until one gets past the unique shape and structure of the cloud ... as it is transfixing, along with a judicious choice of B & W with some nice grain ... that the dimensions become apparent.

That house looks about to be engulfed. And not ... in a good good way.

Definitely captured and created a very ominous mood. All works well.

And for braving the elements and getting a thorn stuck in your foot?

Here ... help yourself. You've earned them.

(/\ And hubby can pour the tea to go along with. :oP)

Thanks for sharing this one with us. Like it a lot on a number of fronts and for a number of reasons. :o)

I sure hope that storm wasn't as bad as it looked! Very threatening appearance.

..y! As in "Freaky!" That is one nasty wall of cloud. It looks as though it was about to swallow the house. I guess that's what happens when you live in "Tornado Alley," eh? Keep yer head down... but keep shooting!

I like the ominous look of the cloud. B/W was a wise choice. I too like the newspaper edition look to it.

Toto too? OMG... I can't help it, this just so reminds me of Auntie Em's house in Kansas and the tornado! LOL That is one far out cloud formation! I'm just sorry that you had to endure so much pain in order to capture this fabulous sight, Laura! And, you were so right to give it the b&w treatment and keep/add the grain! Love it! Faved.

Sorry about what happened to your foot... the things we go through in ordet to get a great capture. The huge angry looking cloud kinda resembles a tsunami! :D Love the b&w by the way.
