Another butterfly enjoying a meal on some goldenrod out in the backyard. I think I was still hunting spiders that day, or maybe it was the insanely chattering squirrel that I was after. I know I was out there for a reason, not necessarily a good one, but a reason nonetheless. Well anyways, this butterfly presented itself for a portrait; shot as a landscape for those keeping count. There's one more butterfly floating around out there. But it refuses to sit still long enough to even consider pressing the shutter button let alone get a blurry photo of it. Hope you enjoy the photo and your comments welcomed.

It must have been nice and sunny this day Wendell because the butterfly really shines. If there was only two and you got one of them, I would say you did very well.
Good post.

Your lighting and background are really wonderful in this shot Wendell - You must have a secret for getting these butterflies hypnotized so they stay still!

Oh my, Wendell....

Am I seeing things or is your depth of field just a tad short on this shot? It looks like the butterfly wings and a part of the plant are perfectly focused but that the head and one antenna are just ever so slightly out of focus!!!!! I'm shocked and appalled that you would post a photo that is so obviously flawed. LOL.

Radiant colors, wonderful background, splendid overall composition.

Your getting some great close ups! I have to say that I really like the colors in this image. The flower almost matches the butterfly! Great shot.

Great shot Wendell. I love the lemon-yellow tones and how they stand out against the olive-green background.

That's one I haven't seen around here, even at the Butterfly House. Nice colors and lighting, Wendell. Good work.
