A scene from the park located in town. Just happened to look up while taking a short rest break waiting for people to move out of range for another photo, which never turned out that great. Anywho, this stone faced fellow caught my eye. Sitting there brooding on his perch looking down with disapproval or haughtiness. It was hard to tell either way as he wasn't talking. Wouldn't even crack a smile when I tried entertaining it with some impromptu knock-knock jokes.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

Reminds me of someone from the Crusades, Wendell. He must have had one too many and stowed away on the wrong ship. No other way I can account for him being in your part of the world. He was probably petrified when he didn't know where he was. And they think Stonehenge is a mystery. Great capture of the elusive Stone Mason.

Cameras are like people--sometimes they lose focus.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB

I've been pondering my critique since last night, Wendell. I will start with a little levity.

"There once was a stone from Nantucket..." Never mind the levity.

Critical commentary: Wonderful use of light and dark as always. You've developed a knack for shooting good photos in strong back light situations. Lighting contrasts are very difficult for me.

The colors are well handled and look good to me. I like the variations of the greens in the leaves, ferns and the moss. The only greens around here are in the faces of the people leaving the local Taco Bell.

The focus is either an unintended screw up or quite imaginative and provocative. The stone is well focused while the surrounding trees and foliage are slightly unfocused which draws the eye to the stone.

I'd give this shot between a high 6 to a mid 7. I'll betcha a dime that the C-Index is less than 60.
