Today I found myself out and about while a storm was a brewing. In this case the remnant of Hurricane Arthur was slowly moving through the area downing trees and causing power outages with the high winds. The winds are still blowing and the rain has started a short while ago as I write this. Obviously the power has come back on locally or I would be posting this through the postal system.

This is the shoreline in the community of Burntcoat Head where I had the pleasure of being sandblasted by flying grains of sand while trying to stand still in the gusts of wind long enough to snap some photos. I'm still picking sand out of crevices all these hours later.

Enjoy and your comments welcomed.

So this is our meeting place ... Most appropriate choice as there will be mostly dark and secret affairs discussed.
I like your vision of colours - exactly like mine...:)

Ahhh, but oh so worth it, Wendell. I applaud your stamina and willingness to sacrifice for the best shot. The pano effect, near-Icelandic character of the landforms, the muted but gorgeous colors, the excellent contrast due to the mostly cloudy sky (cloudy but with plenty of drama...not dead, blank gray), and the composition placing the higher forms to one side and the contrasting floodplain on the opposite, all make this one a keeper, which is why I put a copy into my favorites file. Danke Shoen. -Nik
