I got some new photos of Oporto to post in here, soo I decise to start with newest icon of the city: A Casa da Música (The House of Music). Is a major concert hall space in Oporto. It was designed by the Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas, and was built as part of Oporto's project for European Culture Capital in 2001 but was only finished in the first half of 2005. The main auditorium have capacity to 1200 people and all the musians how plays in there say that is one of the best concert rooms in the world.

Interesting building, I really like it's architecture, quite angular and irregular. What intrigues me the most is how angular the music hall looks and then beside it is this very organic, curved concrete structure that flows into the sidewalk. Very interesting indeed!

The only thing I could suggest to the image would be (if it were possible) to take the shot without the tree branches in the top of the frame and fit the whole building in. Although, this may prove to be difficult due to the local geography around the building.

Great shot, thanks for reminding me how much I enjoy architecture!

Reminds me of the giant computer from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.
