Hamilton Standard has their headquarters about 45 minutes from here and employ a lot of people in Hartford, CT. I have never looked this closely at one of these engines before even though my ex dragged me to the airport every chance he got. He liked to fly and I liked it better on the ground. Metaphor for everything else I suppose.~~Anyway, I like the shiny metal and the propeller as you have framed it in this interesting photo.
Excellent comp, Dan!! In fact, you Should have saved this for Next Wednesday!! Oh well, I'm sure You'll find Something else to Lift our Spirits! This is a Fine example of Why you're the King of Props!!! (Sorry, couldn't Let that one Go... )
As Cindy notes, the props were made near where we live. As well, the wasp engine was originally designed by Pratt & Whitney, another nearby company. (Both are part of Untied Technologies now.) Great image. Thad
The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
This is my day for favs I guess. I am totally taken in by this one The tone reminds me of days gone by. Great composition and lighting on this one for real. I looks like it is ready to take off.
