(part IV) Follow the flame we did. Myself, Tator, Lil PJ and two other team mates for days, it seemed, made our way through solid rock corridors into chamber after chamber. The floating flame led on, venturing ever deeper into the depths of the earth as we moved forward. Finally, after a particularly steep descent, we approached a chamber lit from within and our guiding flame stopped short of the opening. The flame became the swirling colors and took on the form of the entity that spoke to me earlier. It echoed in my mind once again, "Ahead, in this chamber, resides a foreign being who is removing the source of all energy on this planet. It must be destroyed. In its grasp is an orb encasing a large portion of the earth's life essence condensed into a small globe which it is about to consume and remove from the earth’s cycle." I questioned what, on or in this earth, could be so important and contain such power over the earth. The reply was simple. "Carbon," the being replied. "Carbon? Carbon??"
