Along the coast north of San Francisco lies Point Reyes National Seashore. Sue and I went for a walk earlier this year and came across Abbotts Lagoon. This lies about 1000' from the ocean shoreline. The location of the pictured dune is approximately here: (38.119568, -122.950784) on Google Maps. The sand has such wonderful and intriguing textures and sculpting! Taken with my Galaxy Note 8 which has two lenses and takes very good pictures for a phone. Enhanced a bit in Paint.net. Thanks for all your comments my friends:)

Rather different from our sand dunes, Bruce, but wonderful textures indeed.
Love the foreground with its almost submerged vegetation. Gives an extra dimension to your fine composition/capture, Buddy!

I think the angle of this shot is excellent, and very well defined. In all of the years I grew up in the bay area, I never thought to go there.

I know in certain circles there was much debate about one using a phone to take nature pictures. As you can imagine, most of them are snobby purists. I feel it doesn't matter how you took the photo, it's the framing, composition, etc that matters the most. Great capture of the dunes Bruce.
