We went for a drive last year in Franklin Canyon here: XVQ8+M5 Martinez, California - and came across this beautiful red tailed hawk sitting on the fence not 15 feet off the roadway. We watched him for 10 minutes and were pleasantly surprised he didn't scare off. I actually took this picture out the car window!!! For the time being, this will be my entry into the current contest. Thanks for looking.

Most of them fly immediately in my part of the world BB. I don't think they trust the motorist. Great shot and it must have been fun to watch him for such a long time.
Excellent shot for the contest and good luck.
