Bruce, in the most part of my previous career there weren't advanced navigation aids such as satellite navigation. Being able to use the compass (for determining and keeping the correct course) and sextant (an instrument with a graduated arc of 60° and a sighting mechanism, used for measuring the angular distances between objects and especially for taking altitudes in navigation in order for determining the location), and sea charts were the essential tools to reach the correct destination. For safety, its use was supported with aids such as (waterway marking) buoys, lighthouses, etc. to prevent stranding. The many compasses I have seen were of a solid construction with any embellishment considered redundant. If I had had at my disposal such a fine compass, as perfectly depicted by you, I doubt whether I could have been present at Caedes. I probably would never have reached the right destination because I would have been too distracted from its beauty. S+F. Thanks for this fabulous render, Buddy, 👍 !

Very artistic, Bruce. I really like seeing the fade to the left with the primary colors. I also like very much the varied designs and your use of color.
