Bruce, when I look at a photograph like this, I get curious. The question that arises for me is what the original function of these concrete curves was.
I don't rule out that they were the supporting foundations of two cylindrical storage tanks. If this is the case and the tanks has become redundant, it was probably too much trouble to remove the foundations.

I would agree.. and that, in spotting the photo op is one thing.. composing an intriguing image is the next level.
