We are just now getting back to normal after the storm. We still have power, but there are many who don't. We did a bit of shopping today and the stores were stocked, but there are still some bare shelves. There isn't a shortage as there was a week ago though. We decided if a storm like this happens once again, we are not staying put. The winds freaked me out a bit. It could have been much more catastrophic if the storm stayed over the gulf and hit us, the damage and power outages would have been 100 fold worse. We got 80 - 90 MPG "sustained winds" which I never experienced. I have been through storms with strong "gusts" but not constant squealing winds such as with this storm. In any event, we lucked out and most places are back to pre-storm status. I took this shot back in January 2017 at Lettuce Lake park. I haven't been there since the storm since the sink hole I posted about several weeks ago is still going on.

Pretty pic and I'm glad you and your family are able to return to your lives after that crazy storm. I watched it all on weather channel and was hoping it wouldn't be as bad as texas. Anyways keep posting. :)

Alex, during my former career my ship and her crew were in September 1967 hit by the category 5 hurricane 'Beulah' (SSHWS) at sea near the island of Martinique in the Caribbean. Later I've experienced many (heavy) storms, but none was comparable to 'Beulah'. This 'event' has made such an impression on me, although it's 50years ago, that I can remember it very well.
So I can imagine very well what you describe in your narrative.
I'm glad that you're back to a rather normal situation. Hope that you'll see that Mother Nature has repaired the natural damage in the Lettuce Lake Park, so that you can capture images like this one.
Thanks for this very fine Foofy Friday image, my friend.
