After arriving at the shops today and grabbing a shopping trolley, I heading down the aisles to start my shopping. I looked down and noticed a fairly large lizard had been holding on for dear life. Most lizards in this species don't grow larger than this but this is a healthy specimen. Most others are about half this size. I joked with a friend that this was my "service lizard" here in the states, a lot of people have been taking goats, lamas, etc into stores claiming it to be a service animal. They have cracked down on this lately. I wrangled him up to bring outside and he bite me. I'm glad he wasn't much larger because that would have hurt. The brownish anoles as they are called came from Cuba and the Caribbean a long time ago on driftwood and with the Cuban immigrants who came over on rafts. The only native Florida anole is the green anole which I have seen more of lately. I apologise for not commenting as of late, life has been hectic and stressful, but I am getting caught up so will strive to comment more on your posts.
Glad you didn't have him or he didn't have you for lunch.
Good shot and info.
