Meet Chevy! Another Cocker Spaniel I know. She is much younger than mine, but likes to pose for me. If I layed on the floor to take a photo of my own like this, she would wonder why I was down on HER level and come right over to give me kisses! Chevy here is just learning to trust me and has to come smell my camera when she see's it. Animals can sure bring a smile to your face with the simpliest things sometimes!

Animal snouts, protruding thru the plane of focus, play havoc with dof in close ups. The eye is nicely sharp and the composition/crop takes full advantage of that fact. For my taste, not enough of that darling face is in focus.
