This shot was taken in September 2010 in the Massif Central Mountains, France. Devil's Teeth is the real name of this rock formation. Thanks for viewing and commenting. Happy new year my friends !!
Magnificient rock formations. Great composition with a very nice angle of shot. The details in shaded areas are very good. Happy New Year to you too, my friend.
This is one of those dynamic images that so well illustrates how layers of a sea floor can become a mountain top, and just how much our planet has changed over the eons. I'm sure any geologist grins when seeing your photo, as well as hikers (I see the railed path along the high ridge to the left). Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks a lot for your nice comment, I really appreciated. I have to tell you that what you can see on Devil's Teeth are not the rock layers created under the oceans but organ pipes ( volcanic basalt rock columns ). The place were I have taken this shot is located in a old volcanos area.
The basalt columns must be the geologic structures in the center and just to the right of center in the photo. I guess I was looking at the flat ones on the left, that look like stratigraphic structures we have here in the western U.S. states. And I should have looked closer at the "teeth" because I visited Devils Tower in 2005, a volcanic cone in northeastern Wyoming (see the link below), and the sides of that structure look much like these "teeth." This planet has gone through a lot of upheaval in the billions of years it's been around. The only way to be sure is to climb into our time machine and go back to take photographs (I wish), ducking clear of the nearest hungry critter. Still, an excellent photo. This is the kind of place that begs for a series of images, morning, midday, and last light near-sunset, in winter and summer, to study the effects of light and weather on the character of this place.
