This is the view from the top of the highest mountain in the UK, Ben Nevis or as it felt at the time Ben Neverest! It was a 5 and a half hour trip to the top and was possibly the most painful thing i have ever had to endure given that i havent had children! Worth the pain do you think?

Not having had children myself or climbed a mountain for 5+ hrs, I have nothing to base a pain comparison on.
A great view from the top of the world. I like the play of shadows across the landscape. Nice textures and colours in the photo.

The difference between a bad artist and a good one is: the bad artist seems to copy a great deal; the good one really does. ~William Blake

Rachel - An outstanding view. You captured it with terrific composition and clarity with great depth. The dappled lighting on the landscape is special. Kudos! Thad

Yep, worth the pain. Now you need to go back to the car and get the other lens and tripod you forgot and, while you're at it, I left my water bottle on the back seat. I'll wait here and enjoy the view.

Hello, Rachel...I just got back into town and have 60 comments to write. Rather than plastering my butt to this chair for 36 hours, I've scanned each of the shots posted by my Caedes friends and have picked the one that appeals most to me.

This shot is a beauty. I think the results justify the means. I don't see a single flaw in this breathtaking landscape. Not that long ago I used to climb the local mountains, but I stick to the lowlands whenever possible. 5-1/2 hours is a tough trek. At least you have this spectacular shot to show for your efforts.

I think the current C-Index of 63 is low. This is a solid 8.425879 in my way of thinking and worthy of a fave.

Roger

P.S. I gave birth to a child and hiking up hill 5.5 hours is much worse.

This is an amazing view. Having never been to the UK, I didn't realize there were so many hills. Beautiful.
