Here is the City of Bath in England taken from the hill i live on although sadly i do not get this view. Please note the warm colour of the sandstone that Bath is famous for and the amazing Georgian architecture which is visit. The second row of houses placed in the middle left of the photography is Baths most famous piece of architecture known as Royal Crescent.

I enjoy architecture in photography and this one is simply loaded and a view I've only seen, similarily, while driving through the suburbs of south St. Louis--row upon row of similar domiciles. It truly is a perfect capture of modern residential life, everyone crammed in and lined up. I'm guessing that each roof segment, between the brick extensions through the roof, constitutes an apartment below, either one for each floor or two floors like an American condominium. The other unique feature in this photo is what I first took as a mysterious smear of red, almost as though a giant graffiti artist had started messing with the place, then changed his mind. Upon enlargement, however, I see that red shape in the far bottom left is simply a crane. This photo would make one helluva tough but fun puzzle. Thanks for letting me drop it in my favorites file.

A great view of the city, Rachel. Nice warm colours and lighting in the scene.

Beautiful shot! And for me it's good to see this amazing city again. I live in Canada and visited Bath way back in 2000 when the gas stations dried up for a while and I was treated to the adventure of driving a rented car on empty. The sandstone buildings are a delight.

I think this is quite an amazing shot - you have captured so much and everything is clear and detailed.
It makes me want to press a button and zoom in, as in Google Earth lol
Fine post Rachel.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

Holy Mackinoly! It's a repeat visit to a submission. Well, you said in a visit to my latest submission that you'd be hard pressed top come up with an industrial image. To me, the repetitive nature of this one, with row upon row of houses (and construction is definitely an industry) and apartments, punctuated by that big red crane and green tanks, can easily be considered industrial. Looking at your gallery I know you have a precise and creative eye for this craft, and so I have no worries at all that you'll come up with a great submission for the contest. By the way, Rachel, I really love this shot. Have I mentioned that before? ;D
