Remember that picture I posted of the Whitemud Ravine? Well yesterday was the first day to really be able to get out for a long walk with the dog and we came across the same spot.

Thought you'd be interested in a winter view and since there's not much colour around this time of year, B&W was a natural choice.

John this is a wonderful capture. I agree about b&w being the right choice. I think it is overlooked in snow scenes such as this.

I guess the wait is over then.
Wonderful contrasts in this version John. A nicely composed and presented b/w photo. I like the strong lighting in the scene. Good work.

So those guys are trekking along on the snow covered ice, huh? Cool. That really a very interesting shot, and I liked clicking back and forth between this and the other one. A beautiful B&W, John.

It looked like a road at first until I read your commentary. B/W suits it just fine. A good post.

It's amazing what winter and snow does to an area. Makes takes a landscape and makes it in something completely different. A wonderful winter scene and B/W was a great choice. Bet your dog was happy to get out and play in snow.

I certainly do remember "Whitemud Ravine." It's one of my favorites. This shot in winter is a great follow-up to that one. It's a wonderful look at this spot all covered in snow and looks terrific in B&W. The point-of-view and composition is excellent. A fine winter scene. Well done, John!
