I don't know what happened when I posted this picture earlier in the week...somehow the picture got stuck with a different title and narrative when it showed up in the new images. I am trying it again.......The only time orange and red go together, is in a fruit salad. That farmer really needs to do some painting. LOL

The orange doors do really stick out! But the rest of the shot is beautiful. The dry grasses, bare trees and heavy clouds, so typical of this season neighbor! Great capture! Ami

You are going to get many comments about your great composition on "Clashing Colors" and I believe they will all be justified. I just wanted to additionally point out something that caught my eye, and yours too, is the position of the tree. You have perfectly placed it in the center of the roof line of the barn. Neat! I also like how both trees bookend the horizontal line. This is a really good post, my friend.

Great textures and colors in this Jim! I think the only reason the doors look orange is because they're metal. After awhile red turns to orange in the sun. That tree really adds beauty to this as well. Lovely capture!

Jimbob, maybe it got stuck because I was commenting something stupid about that fruit salad, so I won't repeat it, lol.
Great post my friend with vivid fresh colours and a dramatic sky. Well done.

Maybe the cows like orange better than fruit salad. It might show them the way home. I'm better at choosing great photos than I am at making smart remarks ... so I'm keeping this one. Besides the photo, you gave me a good laugh today. Thank you.

Great post for you Mr. JimboB. The light touch of FDR works well with this. I think there are others who use just a dash of FDR to enhance their photos. I really like the process. The tree is perfect as Shads pointed out. I particularly like the old fence.

Have a good weekend.

Maybe the local paint store couldn't make the best match! It's still a magnificent old barn and you have to give him credit for sprucing it up a bit. Sure looks fine against the colors and detail of foreground and background. Oh, and my mother used to tell me that red and orange go together fine when you are Polish. She is Polish! lol

I think the most fantastic time orange and red go together is a Sunset. I actually love the whole scene Jimbo! I even like the touch of that orange door, its different, and that brings interest. I like the scruffy grass and where the tree is, and the sky is filled with drama. A Great shot hun!! Bravo..Verena

I guess this is a fruit salad barn then, right? Well let me at it! I think the two warm colours work well, especiallly against the cold grey sky. I like that lone, leafless tree and the brush-like grass in the foreground too. A keeper as Pat would say.

One of the things I particularly like about this photo is the contrasting horizontals and verticals. The fence, the clouds are perpendicular to the roof, the barn wood, the grass. Beautiful composition and balance, great color complementing. Nice work.
