I will let the bird experts identify this bird. I have no idea what it is. From Window On Wildlife, at Wildwood Preserve Metropark, Toledo, Ohio.

Thanks for the comments, friends.

I think it is the Orange Tailed Swallow JimboB. It sure looks good on that deer's antlers. Did I mention my eyes were failing?
Good focus for having a blurred background. If it ain't Bokeh, don't fix it.

Jimbob - You got yourself one good photo here. I like the subtle colors in the photo, with the bird's coloring being seen in the blurred (dof) background to each side. With the one leaf as exception, the near b/w tones add to the impact of the image. LIghting does the same. Composing the photo with the bird being the focus, yet a small part of the image keeps the size of the bird in proper perspective. Great work here! Thad

Maybe my eyesight is not as good as it once was but I think you got one great shot of this squirrel Jimbob. He must be pretty light to be able to work his way onto the small branches.

I don't like to disagree but I think it is a type of goldfinch - I see many kinds in the tree around our 3rd floor condo - the hint of yellow gives it away - well done on the comp and shot.

From the disproportionate size of it's head, it looks like an "Eastern Phoebe". Was it fluttering around a lot and then landing back at around the same place? Unlike most birds, they catch flying insects on the wing, instead of feeding on the ground.

Eastern Phoebe 1

Eastern Phoebe 2

These exist in Ohio. Even a female goldfinch would not have a dark head like that, and the males are bright yellow.

Beautiful picture. I like the touch of the colorful dead leaf.
