Maybe somebody was trying to drown it! I hope not. Such a great shot Jim!!! Focus perfect and the colors excellent! I just feel sorry for the poor thing...hehe
Yesterday, Jim, you presented us with a beautiful waterfall posting of the zoo in Cleveland. Today's posting comes from the zoo in Toledo. Is this part of your new "The Zoos of Ohio" book that's coming out next week?
I'm known for saying what I think in my critiques. I stay away from "beautiful shot" and that sort of thing and try to explain why I think it looks good or bad to me. And since I'm the only person in the known universe that actually has an opinion of note, I'll plow ahead.
Great action shot. One of those right place at the right time shots that I'm never ready for. Excellent colors. The background is distracting as h.e. double toothpicks, but there's not much you can do about that. If I may be so bold, the only thing that seems a tad off to me is the framing. I think the feet are awfully close to the bottom of the shot. That being said, this is twice as good a shot as anything I've posted. A solid 6.5 out of 10. I would have bumped it to 7.5 if you had Mt. Everest in the background and a little more room for this crazy guy's feet at the bottom.
i really can't add more to the comments above, im not a photographer so i cant account for how hard it is to get this type of shot but objectively you have an image that evokes emotion and i like it a lot.

Jimbob - An interesting coiffure on this stork. I sure hope that he isn't spreading the wings as some way to impress the ladies - with that do, he won't woo any of them. Good timing on the capture. Thad
Too bad your name isn't Lou. Then I could call you zoo-Lou. Such a bedraggled looking excuse for a stork. Maybe he brought a bundle to a place that had a sprinkler. Definitely an amusing shot, well composed and with excellent detail.
This looks more like shredded feathers then ruffled ones Jimbob! I like the orange beak and feet and how nicely they stand out. well I do have more to say about this fabulous photo but I just want to say I'm really fond of it.
PS. to me it looks like a high feathered fashion bird is walking the Cat Walk....smile
