The first sign of Spring around my place is the beginning growth of the leaves of a Spiraea bush. This was taken with a Canon G9 in macro mode.

Ahhh, The first colors of Spring are certainly a welcome sight. You picked a little rainbow of it. Very well done my friend.

Rather late in your area Jimbob. We are having 22°C during day with bright sunshine! Nice clear shot of the colourful leaves.

If it's the first spring growth how come it's got fall colors? I do like this close up JB and so happy spring is in full swing in Northern Ohio

My spirea bushes are living on borrowed time JimboB. They are soon to give way to a remodeling project. I will be glad when the cold, rainy days are over and spring is here for good. A good shot and I like the way it is outlined.

Jimbo...

Yet another glorious posting. I'm happy to see that they let you out of the zoo although I miss seeing your cell mates. Did they at least have you placed in the primate section or were you classified as a bird?

Spectacular capture of this simple bunch of leaves. It's the simplicity of Mother Nature that make the finest subjects. Wonderfully subdued colors and exquisite detail are the primary components of your posting. You really nailed it. I rarely have anything in my comments that would qualify as constructive criticism unless superlatives count. I did notice that the depth of field is off by a micron based on the fuzzy leaf at the bottom of the shot. This baby gets a 7 out of 10.

A beautiful splash of colors, Jimbob. Almost like it was Autumn again. Ooops! Did I say that? No, no, no. We want Spring! The whole bush must really put on a show. Great closeup. Neat little camera.

It does look like autumn colors but that is true of the first leaves on many things in the spring - no chlorophyl yet to make them green. Very nice macro!

I have never heard of this kind of bush - sounds poisonous, but it is pretty Jim; it's colors look more like autumn than spring.
